trouble data logging with XCAL 2

I've been trying to do some data logging, which i've learned how to set which parameters and what not. I was told to use the ones in capital letters when available.

I'm trying to do some wot data loging and it seems it keeps cutting out on me.

I went to the track, i'd start the data logging, do a burnout and make the pass, i'd stop it on the return road only to see just after my burnout, it stops recording and there's a box that came up something to the affect of there has been no data for 10 or 15 seconds or something.

Is there anything that would cause this.

Through trial and error, it seems as though whenever i bring the rpm's up , and let off back to an idle, that's when it happens.

I need to do some data loging and non of the local dyno guys want to rent out dyno time if they are doing tuning, so i figured the track would be the best for real world results. I've already done a half dozen passes down 95 and it's not worth getting arrested or killing myself or someone else.

You probably still have your data.
The data logging will stop 5 seconds after the motor is turned off.
No biggie, because at the top tool bar there is a botton to expand the graph to show the complete data log.
Another botton to zoom in on the run.

Your Xcal2 needs to be setup by your tuner for you to make changes.
Or get the PPR version, then you'er wide open to make changes yourself.

Also check out the SCT's forum

i think you misunderstood me....

the data logging stops while data logging and a message comes up that there has been no data for x seconds.........not when i shut the truck off.

The sct board sucks. they hardly reply over there.

Memory on the laptop being used? Is the truck chipped?
Wrong driver downloaded for Live Link?
Have you updated your LiveLink?

You can't add timing unless your tuner included that ability in the programs he loaded on your XCal2. Your XCal2 will ask you if you want to add "optional perameters" if it has them available.

No other running programs except livewire.

I installed the program from the cd, but i will check tonight to see if it is the most recent version, maybe it's older or something.

I had the same issue on mine. Same exact symptoms. I can use a friends Xcal2 with my laptop and my truck and it datalogs perfectly. But my Xcal2 with my laptop and truck does the "No data received for 5 seconds" just like it does when you turn off the key. I called SCT and after 15 minutes of the tech trying to talk me out of sending it back (and paying them since it is out of warranty!) I finally received a RMA to return it. I shipped it out on 05/07/07 and last week I received a call from tech support questioning why I sent it in again!!! I told him just fix it. Whatever it takes. Now.
Funny thing happened last week also. I have another buddy who's Xcal2 starting doing the same thing. Is this a common thing among everyone with Xcal2's?

I received my Xcal2 back today. They replaced the board and key pad and reserialized it. Basically I received a new Xcal2 at no charge.
