It's Ford's plan for Family of Ford employees. Basically you get Ford vehicles for 3% below dealer cost.

If you know someone who is employed by Ford(not dealers, they're privately owned) they can now get 4 X-plans which is 4% above A/Z plan and they can give them to anybody. However, dealers are not required to honor them(A/Z/X-plans) and some don't on high demand or limited edition vehicles.

I'm not sure about the "not required to honor them" on the A/Z plan. They don't have to honor it on a Lim. Ed. vehicles like SVT's but, I believe they do for the rest of them. One dealer up here lost their A/Z plan priv. because they were screwing people on it. Some dealers, that want your repeat business, will do the plans on the SVT's.

IF they alter the set A/Z plan price they can lose their franchise with Ford. The only exception I've ever heard to the honor/not honor the A/Z plan is if you order the vehicle, then they have too. My sister/brother-in-law were turned down on an Explorer purchase years back when you couldn't beg, borrow, or steal one. Guy told them if they waited 8 weeks for an order they could have it. When I was looking at my '99 2 dealers around here said no A/Z plans on the "L" and this is where F150's are made. Of course when one came in and sat 2 weeks the salesman almost fell over himself trying to get me to buy it, but by that time I had put money down on another dealers first arrival so I told him an impossible price for the trade on my '98 4X4 just to get him to leave me alone. You're right about repeat, especially in a town where they're made, a stupid choice on their part not to A/Z plan.

I have never heard of anyone not getting their A-plan on a reg. prod. vehicle. The dealer I mentioned lost their rights to the A/Z for several years, not a good thing to not have in the Detroit area.
Every dealer I have talked with had no problem getting me a '99 L on A-plan. Just depends on the area and who you talk with.

If you do not know what it is, it is obvious that you do not qualify to get one.
