Question Need some more input from those w/ Flows

I FINALLY found a good local shop that will do a muffler swap w/o charging me out my azz.
$100 bucks(I supply the Flows),thats the best price I've gotten in 9 months. But the tech wants to stack the mufflers, not put them side by side. Of course he also tried to nock the Flows by telling me "they will make my truck go slower." So he tried pushing his "Vortech" brand muffler, dual in/dual out. I told him I didn't think the muffler would handle the air that will be pushed through, but he "assured" me that would not be the case. But he did say whatever I decided was good enough for him.
So...to Flowmaster or not to Flowmaster....to stack the mufflers(sounds like a bad idea to me) or stagger them" These are my questions.

Stagger them at an angle, mine fit in pefect with no ground clearance problems, I dont see how he could stack them, the would be way more trouble than it would be worth!

The vortec mufflers are actually a decent muffler. If you want a hollow sound like a flowmaster then go flowmaster. If you want it to have a more defined v-8 tone,Go with the vortec.ive heard them on regular 5.4 and they sound deep and throaty like the 60s muclecars.definatly more defined v-8 sounding.Your exhuast guy will soon find out they are going in a stagger whether he likes it or not.

Thanx for the input guys, I thought the stacking of the muffler sounded a bit ludicrous. Lightningquick the Vortecs you have heard on the 5.4's,were they a single muffler? Cuz thats what this guy wants to do,a single muffler(dual in/out). I have heard from others on here that the dual in/outs make a strange whistling noise cuz they can't take the air being pushed through. And I sure as h@ll don't want that! LOL But I do want that throaty musclecar sound. Our L's just dont have that mean tone to them, and I have got to fix that.

You need two single mufflers period. The ones I heard were single in dual out(same sound as 1-1).You dont want nor do i think vortec makes a 1 muffler which would work with a lightning anyway. The sound f a vortec is basically making the factory sound more aggressive .Flomasters have a distinct sound no matter what you put them on.Definatly do 2 no matter which way you go
