Got SVT Enthusiast Mag./2001 Lighting Info
Got my magazine yesterday. Has red 2001 Lightning on cover with article inside with specifications. 380 HP @ 4750 RPM. 450 lb. torque @ 3250 RPM. Top speed 142 MPH. Quarter mile 13.9 @ 100 MPH. 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. 3.73 rear.
Most important. Braking 238 FT. from 80 MPH.
136 FT. from 60 MPH.
Fuel economy (I know, wrong audience) 13/17 MPG. Estimated, of course.
Eight photos inside. Still don't like those tail lights.
Has 4.5 inch aluminum drive shaft. Is that new for 2001?

Yes the 4.5 aluminum drive shaft is new for 2001.
I got a part # and a price from Ford but I don't know if it is only for the drive shaft or if it comes with the U joints too. Does any one know if it does or not?

Mikey88, was not aware magazine could be found at SVT Dealer, as 4D THNDR says.
I got mine in the mail from SVT as part of being an SVT owner. Something like an owners club magazine. It is Volume 3, Issue 3. I doubt if it is available in stores, etc.
Has a cute remark on the front page showing the 2001 Lightning doing a burn-out. It says:
"This was performed by a professional driver on a closed course, and you know perfectly well you are NOT to try these things at home".
