Post Anyone who is DEFINITELY buying an '01 near Cincy..Read this

Ford employees are going to get a new program that allows us to "give away" X plan program price this year. I want to save a few for friends (I think I get 4) but I might be willing to give one to someone on the board. Only one catch, A salesman at Williams Ford is a friend of mine, and I would want to throw him some business if I can. There's NOTHING in this for me, I'm just that nice a guy. But you'd have to buy at Williams, and on the day you do the paperwork I think I'll have to be there. you have to provide your SS number when you get the paperwork, so if you're one of the big privacy/conspiracy theory types, this isn't you.
For those of you who don't live around here, or the second and later persons who get ahold of me about this, if you know a Ford employee, you may ask them about this, you might be surprised, a lot of people don't know they can do it, and I don't think anyone would say no to a friend, the family gets A Plan, so it's no big deal to me.

X plan is 4% higher than A Paln, pretty close to or maybe even below dealer's final cost. I think it'll save you about 5 grand on a Lightning.
Post here, I'm terrible about reading e-mail.

Thanks,

G

F-Tech,
I really didn't want to buy a '01, I love my '99, but if I don't get rid of this miss............I could surley be enticed by an x-man.

Tim

Ps...I'd be more than willing to go to Cincy to pick it up.

God that sounds like a good deal, and I have another office in cincy, but I could never get ride of my 99L. I just love her too much. Some few people are going to be very happy this year.

This is one sweet offer!!!!! What do you think they would do in an "upgrade" scenario?

You can email me at Speedinbob@home.com so we can discuss further.

The Mrs. just may go for this......decisions, decisions.....

The downside of A Plan (and X Plan) is that you get pretty much wholesale on any trade in. My advice is to sell it yourself or get ready to get hosed. That said, I always just trade my own in. First, I don't want the hassle, second, inevitably, I'd end up selliing a car to a friend, and two weeks later the wheels would fall off or the engine blow, and I'd just rather not have that situation. And finally, you get wholesale, flat out. Your're not gonna getted ripped off, you just don't get top dollar. I understand that the dealer wants to make a few bucks, and it's easy to get "emotional" about a car, esspecially a special car. I would guess that a '99 L would bring 22-24K trade in, with low miles and cherry. Now I know that we all think they're worth more, but if you want to get more you'll have to sell it yourself, and it's worth a few grand to me to not be bothered.
The good news is, if you want to sell your old one yourself, it looks like you have a few weeks to do it.

Factory_Tech,

I've got a '94 Impala SS and have been looking seriously at the Lightning. I'm ready to buy. I'll sell my SS myself. How does an "X" plan work? I can come to Cincy about anytime.

Thanks.

As of now, the offer has been accpted by someone on the board, sorry I don't have more to give away. If the person who took me up decides against buying, I'll ask for someone else.
I encourage anyone who knows a Ford employee to ask them about it, for any Ford purchase, it's a great deal.

Thanks,
g

I'm hoping to buy a 01 real soon, and I already get the X Plan from my company. I bought my 96 Cobra at Williams, you think you could talk your "friend" there into getting me an L at cost??? LOL JK Is your friend Jeff K. by any chance???? That was my salesman when I bought my Cobra. Later, Roger

Question

Would a person working at a ford dealership qualify for an A or X plan?
