I got a 1/2 inch plastic tee with a 5/8 female comection from my local hardware store. It was like this tee was made just for my lightning !!

I sliced the heater core hose slid everything on and clamped it and tried my gauge.Make sure you ground the sending unit
if you dont your gauge womt work. This is done by using a wsher and a 3/8 electrical loop hole connector and this goes inbetween the sensor and the brass nut you use to actually screw into the tee. When you get your gauges, you will get 2 different brass connector,Use the big one with the washer and loop hole between.Hope this helps. You are gonna need to crank down on these sending unit and brass fitting in order to ground and stop it from leaking.DO NOT crank down the fitting into the plastic tee,You will break it
Youll see what I am talking about soon as you dig in.
Bye the way,The heater core hose is the one that is starting you right in the face
