Changing Plugs - My Experience
Everyone,
I just thought I would chime in my .02 on the changing of plugs in the L:
First off, you are gonna need an assortment of 1/4" extensions, rachet and swivel, 3/8" extensions, swivel, rachet & spark plug socket.
NOTE: The key to getting the 3rd COP bolt off on the drivers side is getting one of those 1/4", 7mm socket w/built in swivel. I got mine at Sears Hardware (Craftsman) for 7.99$. This makes #3 a walk in the park. I mean easy. As noted by some others, my std 1/4" 7mm socket was too long to fit in there.
Now my take on the job:
First time, give yourself a few hours. The key is finding the angle and combination of extensions/swivel. The first 2 on each side are a walk in the park. The tips I have are:
#3 drivers - get the 7mm w/built in swivel
#4 drivers - Getting the COP screw back in is tough. Its a tight fit..really tight. Move some of the wire bundles above the plug(near firewall). This should allow you cleaner access. When installing the bolt, duct tape it (Just a little) to the socket you are using. Start the bolt, remove the tape and finish tightening the bolt.
#4 passenger - Its pretty accessible, you just can't see anything. Go by feel.
Use antisieze on the plugs when installing.
Use Dielectric grease on the wiring connectors.
I used the NGK TR-6s. Since it snowed today, I didn't get a chance to test drive.
Also, all plugs on my driver side were gapped at .45, while the passenger were all .42 or .43. I realize its not a big difference, but it just seemed strange.......
Thats about it, the directions posted elsewhere are pretty accurate. I think after doing it once and getting that swivel socket, it could be done in 1-2 hours.
To celebrate, I leave for Honolulu tomarrow AM..
What a business trip

Brian K,
That's pretty much how my instructions read. That #3 drivers side bolt is a bear without the proper tool. I went with the craftsman 1/4" mini breaker bar for the same price.
When I gapped my plugs down it took me a little over 2 hrs. I wasn't rushing but I knew exactly what I was doing this time.

After spending many counless times changing plugs for testing..I decided since I was so close to running out my warranty, that I would remove anything that was in the way and was not really needed. So we changed some things around.
In this photo you see:
1- JDM Single bore TB
2- Power steering reservoir??
3- Low Intercooler reservoir...LOL
But Mainly quick access to the plugs for trackside chage in about 30 minutes.
