diablo tuning questions help please!
ok i just got my diablo tuner in the mail. i had a few questions when using it tho because i have heard 2 different things. i have a k&n intake, lfp throttle body, c&l upper intake, ngk spark plugs, a colder range thermostat and im going to be adding tomorrow the 4psi crank pully. i heard all i have to do is take and use the diablo and choose one of the tunes with a pulley option to accomodiate the new pulley, i want to make sure thats the truth tho. also when tuning it ive heard 2 different things, ive heard for power u should set it a little lean, but then i heard from someone else you should set it rich to get more fuel to burn for power and also advance the spark some to take and help burn the fuel. which will benefit more? its an everyday use vehicle, i take it to and from work everyday and i take it out crusin around alot, but believe me i dont stay out of the boost (how can you). and i read all these storys of the MAF going bad and ppls engines blowing up...i just want to see someone elses opinion.
I use their no-pulley canned tune in my truck with no problems. If you're not sure about using their octane appropriate pulley tune, then call Diablo-Sport and ask them what to do. Sorry, but that's all I got.
If you have a 2001-2004 L and can get 93 octane, run the 93 octane, 90 MAF pulley tune. It doesn't sound like you should try messing around with the fuel and timing if you don't understand the risks. Your next mod should be a wideband air/fuel monitor.
Go to Diablo's website and learn what you have, then talk to one of their techs. http://www.diablosport.com/index.php...display&pid=58

anyone else have any imput? it runs great with the 93 octane pulley tune i put in it with the diablo tuner and #4, but i know its got a hell of alot more that i can get out of it, i boosted the line pressure in the transmission to make it shift a little smoother as well. ideas?
If your not satisfied with the Predator tune, why not go to a tuning specialist and have it dyno'd? In the long run it would be cheaper than replacing a vented motor from tuning it wrong yourself.
