oldest 99,

I noticed you have an R9 chip. If you do get a Pro-M you "must" send your chip back to have it reburned for the Pro-M otherwise you will run too lean.

boy oh boy, what good is this site if we are always going to search feature. Its not like there are an abundance of new exciting topics to read through. This site has slowed down considerably.I understand why it is there but sometimes bringing up old news brings new ideas. Just my opinion. Smiles mean its not supposed to offend anyone.Noel

I see you're from Houston, I'm from Deer Park, about 30mi SE of Houston. I'm selling a Pro-M which has about 3000mi of use, if you'd like you may try it out on your truck and see how you like it...then ofcourse I will force you to buy it, just kidding. You can email me at mwadem@swbell.net if you're interested.

Hey Flash,
You ever run into a red, really low, Dodge supercab full size, that sounds really good and seems to be running a std. tranny? I had a couple of short blast's with this guy on the Beltway feeder, between Hwy 225 and Spencer. He seems to be pretty fast.

Cool

I did not get an R9 because I already had a Pro-M, and Mike Troyer does not recommend using his chip with a Pro-M because apparently there is a lot of individual variation in how much air a Pro-M flows, and it is easy to lean it out too much and burn a piston. However, there are two models of Pro-M, the cheap one with a plastic body and the more expensive one with the aluminum body, and I don't know if his comments apply to both units. I have the aluminum one, and a Swanson chip that was programmed by Danny with the MAF installed, so I feel fairly confident that the fuel ratio is OK. At least I am not experiencing any pinging like a lot of R9 owners are reporting.

Just a note. The new 2001 L has a 90 Mass air thats going to be better with the new JDM programed chip. Wait for it.

Question

Word has it that the ECU in the '01's has no service port. Where is JDM going to install a chip?

Oldest 99 and Flash, why not join us at track this week-end at drags at HRP or LSR Fri.evening or Sat noon. If you are not members of HALO already, we will try to persuade you.

Pro-M will require reburn of R-9, but Super Chips does have one. My recent reburn for Pro-M is doing well, but it did take two attempts. Swanson does seem to have Pro-M handled. Agree, however, that swapping to new Ford 90mm will probably be a better idea once it is available.
