Question White Lightbulb replacement. Help !!!!!

I am replacing my OEM bulbs with White xenon, but after pulling the harness out with the bulb carrier, I wasa little hesitant to tug on the OEM bulb for fear of breaking the assembly. Anyone's thoughts would be greatly appricitated here. What is the process? IS the stock carrier used, or does it need to be replaced?

In advance: Thanks

after you pull the headlight out, unplug the harness while the bulb is still in the headlight.. then unscrew old bulb & replace with superwhite bulb. try not to touch the glass bulb. oils on your skin are bad for it.
the foglight bulbs take a couple of minutes longer.. you gotta get a socket and take the whole bracket off. (about 15 seconds)

oh, btw - i put my old bulbs in the plastic case the superwhites came in.. just in case.

if you look in the trucks owners manual, i'm sure it says somewhere in there how to change a bulb.

hmm... how many lightning owners does it take to change a lightbulb? LOL

clonetek,
You don't need to remove the fogs mount to work on the light or replace, clean them or change bulbs. Just look at the lens from
its level and you will see a little half hex
piece of spring metal at the top center of the light. Take a small blade screwdriver and
stick it under this tab. Lift against the lens and you'll see a vertical tab pop out from a slot in that piece your lifting. The entire light will fall in your hand so be ready for it. Then just pop the black rubber
water shield off to remove the ground and unplug the hot spade connector and do what you need to do with the light. When you reinstall just chatch bottom stop in the mount and lay the light in against that tab.
Then a quick fearm rap will pop that tab back
to capture the light as before. Don't forget
the rubber seal or gasket that goes around
the mount. Its really easy. Except the first
time.

I thought this was the answer clonetek, but upon pulling my bulb/housing out of the passenger side main headlamp, I noticed that it does not unscrew. It seems fixed to the housing. I put some pressure on it, but t certainly is not turning and I do not see a way for it to unscrew. Any ideas? What am I doing wrong here? I'm afraid of breaking the

A.) Bulb
B.) Metal bulb holder

Any ideas. The bulb holder is attached via four welds at each corner. In short, a plus mounted over a (0). Don't want to break the plus tabs off the (0) by forcing it.

HELP

Thanks

Berto

hmm...

do this:

1 pull up on black tabs holding headlight in.
2 pull out headlight assembly.
3 unscrew the black ring that holds the bulb/harness to the headlight assembly
4 pull out bulb/harness together
5 while holding onto the plastic plug on the end of the wiring harness, grab the bulb by the base ("D" shaped piece of plastic) and pull the bulb out of the harness.

its a tight fit, try "wiggling" it a bit..
it should really just pop out..

The bulbs DO NOT come out of the carrier. The whole carrier/bulb assembly is replaced. If you attempt to pull or twist the bulb itself out of it's carrier you will have broken glass in your hands. The whole assembly is replaced as a unit.
