Just got off the phone with one of my customer's (Visteon Corporation). Was telling him about my Lightning and how much I loved it and I found out the following:

15 Lightnings just rolled off the line to be dynoed and tweaked to maximize performance.

Jay Leno is currently have Roushe convert his brand new Harley Davidson F150 with the "Lightning package".

 

Leno owns a Lightning, too.

 

It's a good sign.

Black 2001 ordered 10/31/00. As another member said, "Now the wait begins"

 

Just got back from Naples, Florida. Don't have my build date yet!! I did get my personalized plate in the mail a few minutes ago.

"THOR 01". I just hope I won't be on a test trip in January! It would be my luck that the truck gets in and im stuck in the U.P. doing cold weather testing for two weeks! I'm saying a prayer tonight!! he,he,he!!

You've just made me so happy. I started to think they would never start building them. I don't have my build dates yet and I'm number 6 on the list of 8 they just ordered last month.

Danny Gans also has a L here in Vegas. He had his whole L repainted with a custom pearl black paint job with chrome custom wheels.

 

Got a call from my dealer here in GA before Christmas with a build date of 1/8/01. I'll believe it when he calls back with the VIN.
Then it's time to start pulling your hair out as the wait begins.

I talked to my dealer yesterday. I asked him anything new he could tell me, he told me that he wasn't recieving information b/c Ford (Factory?) was closed down. WTF??? This makes me mad...more waiting..

All of Ford shuts down for Christmas every year, this year we took off on the 22d, we go back on Tuesday. It's pretty nmuch industry wide, Autoworkers don't do Christmas.

It's the same deal with Aerospace workers.

I work for Boeing, the largest employer in the US.

If your dealer has a build date, he should also be able to get you the VIN.
