has anyone had any problems with their oil pressure guage?
did a search, came up with nada.

twice now, my oil pressure guage wouldnt work unless i gave it some gas..
the first time it did it, i pulled over & re-started the truck & it went away. (thought it may have been a glitch in the 'puter)
i kept an eye on it, and tonight, it wouldnt budge from the bottom unless i gave it some gas. (i checked the oil level, 1/8-1/4 in the hatch marks, engine cold)

tried re-starting the truck several times (4-5) and it finally started working correctly.
it was around 30 degrees when all of this happened. truck had been sitting for 8 hours.

was the oil so cold that it wasnt being picked up and distributed properly? (i use mobil1 5w30)


any info?

Since 1987(I think) these gauges are no more than an idiot light. At 4 PSI they make up the sender to bring it up to 2/3's or so. So really all it's telling you is it has 4 PSI or more. If it's not making up without reving I would have it looked at. There's not a loud knocking deep down in the heart of the beast is there?
