Honestly, I'm being serious.

There are about 9000 Gen 2 Lightnings on the streets of the US (accounting for wrecks and exports, this is probably a good number). I don't know about the R'T's, but I would have to guess about 18.4 gazillion. They have been making these for a few years now, and in pretty decent numbers, right?

Anyway, and this is no exaggeration, I have NEVER seen one rolling on the street, and believe me - I'M LOOKING! I can't wait to jump one of these slugs on the street, or for that matter, at the strip. Where are all these guys?

Over the same period, I've probably seen 50 or 60 Gen 2 Lightnings (and hordes of Gen 1's as well) rolling around Cincy, and another 10 or so at the 'strip (Edgewater and Tri-State). The only R/T I've spotted is parked every day at a business park off route 50 (a particularly ugly white one). I've never seen it rolling, and if I do, I'll give him/her a go with my crappy, slow Grand Prix (with the mighty 3.1 pushrod mill).

Where are these guys? A loud presence on the 'net, but no representation on the street. Never at cruise night, never at the 'strip, never at a red light when I want them to be.

No, I think what happened is all the r/t boys gave their old ones back with the dodge buy back. Thats what my friend did with his. He drives a z28 now, and he still can't beat me.

That's pretty funny.

Everybody in Cincy (and I suspect everywhere else) knows where/when the fast guys hang out. The Viper, Lightning, Mustang, and F-Body guys get out there and REPRESENT. I'm just trying to figure out where the R/T gang is, and why they don't swing by and THROW DOWN.

I'm not trying to start a bunch of crap, just wondering (for real). Where are these guys?

Silver-Y2K-SVT - Come on down to Tampa. There are a bunch of them running around down here. There is an R/T club that shows up at the car show every month. Generally 7 or 8 or them. The really funny part is most of them don't even bother to wash their trucks before they bring them to the show.

I posted a while back about the guy who approached me on foot and claimed to be an R/T owner. Didn't actually see his truck, though, maybe it was in the shop. He had a serious case of Lightning envy, as well he should.

Hey you live in the valley what spots do you race at if you do. I recently moved from the valley to Temecula.

 

I don't know how many gazillion they've made either but I think they are limited to 5-10k per year and no I haven't seen many around here either.

Why do you all disrespect all R/T owners? I've met 4DTHNDR and we get along fine. And for the person who started this thread; you better have something better then a 13.7 to catch up to my R/T. I just set a new personal best of 13.30 at 111.2 mph. Anyways, I love the L's too just no back seat !

Well if you're really Jonesin' for an R/T kill just head up to PA,there must be at least 7 in the imediate vacinity.None modded to even be considered a decent match.All are slooooow,but are willing to run em'. In their own "special" way ,I think a majority of these guys rode in the "short" bus to school.

i have seen a total of three on the roads in michigan.one of them did a ricer fly by on me while on a two lane one way,so when he got into the left turn lane to go the other way i followed and could have lined up with him at the light.but nope he takes a right onto a 35mph street and i followed as he was going about 85-90 in this cop infested area,i didn't bother to chase him. he either new better than to line up or was trying to convince his buddy that he could whoop on a gen 2.now at the strip iv'e seen more than a few r/ts most are in the 15's. saw one at milan go 13.3 with a 150 shot, and another go 13.5 with a blower.00L 12.926 107.74
