Thats odd , maybe beefcake hid a turbo on the ole silver lightning and forgot to tell me hehehe .

The 1121 sounds right , that would explain my funky high idle after the dyno session last week .

Quick fix or easiest way to check or what to look for ?

Thanks Rob !

Ya man I cant figure that one out either , hold on I actually have a scanner here and the book of codes, let me see what that one says.........

Weird schitt I tell you, it has the same answer ???
P0243 Turbo/Sup Wastegate Solenoid A Malfunction

And if you do a search on Ford P0243 Code this is what you get, (same answer?)

I read up some and seems I need to try cleaning the maf first before getting a new one ? It has a diablo on it or at least the controller says that ? Its getting worse , may try to get to it this evening or tomorrow , working 7 days a week SUXS sometimes !

I had the P0243 code a while back. It happened when the chip was accidently switched back to the stock setting. I think it had something to do with the EGR. I had the EGR delete in the chip but when it went back to the stock setting it threw the EGR and PO243 code. Everyone thought that was odd at the time but it was resolved by figuring out the switch had been moved on my diablo flip chip. The tune may have nothing to do with your code but it may have something to do with the EGR...Is yours deleted?

Here's a link to the thread with my trouble, Sal helped out a little on the P0243 code. He called it "boost dump unplugged" I dont think there is a difference...probably not much help anyway.

Thanks , I'll check it out . All this started after 4 or 5 dyno runs and then one last one with the Nitrous .

I cleaned the MAF sensor and it seems to have NOT helped , guess I'll break down and buy one

I'll check the EGR next , I am not sure if I've got the egr delete or not ?

On the electrical problems , seems most were with the battery / batteries deal . Hopefully a new MAF will do the trick since the TPS didn't .

Thanks again ,

SC

yeah

i think he added two batteries and hooked them together, but had some alternator problems or something.

I remember the truck kept going wierdly lean and the maf volts were jumping and they ended up putting some diode or resister somewhere............

Just thinking that if something was still going on, your electrical controled solenoids and such could be the issue.

Well,

I've installed a new MAF , new TPS , cleaned out the IAC sensor , cleared codes ( it hasn't thrown any in 3 days ) and STILL high idle (1400) in gear .

It idles pretty good in Park or Neutral but as soon as you stick it in gear it goes up to 1400 . Sitting at a redlight for at least 60 seconds and it finally comes down just under 1000 .

If I am going down the road its like cruise is on ! I throw it in Neutral and it will stay at 1400 for 1/2 minute maybe and then come down to 900 or so .

Sprayed the accufab , its moving freely .

I did notice I've got the diablo MAFia controller and its set on 3 . Not real sure what they do besides what little I read on their website , sounds like its made for the higher hp trucks so you won't max out the MAF sensor ?

Any ideas besides selling

Oh yeah , this all started after a few dyno pulls and a pull with about 4 seconds of Nitrous . Was perfect before the sessions ?

620Hphoss, I just read my Mafia instruction sheet and it indicates:

QUOTE:
"Some vehicles may develope a high or erratic idle when the mafia is used on it's higher stttings. Lowering the target mass air voltage in the functions can be useful when trying to eliminate idle problems. Reduce the right hand side of the Target Mass Air Functions by the same correction factor as the Mafia setting you are using".

Just this week I had my truck dyno tuned and added a mafia and my setting was on the recommended #2. Maybe this is something to look into in order to resolve your idle issue. Hope this helps!

Thanks,

It was on setting #3 , I lowered it and also went on up past the intial setting that was set during tuning a year or so ago .

Would a leaking Supercharger gasket case any of this ? I noticed on the drivers side where it bolts to the intake that I've got a film of oil maybe from blowby ? I wiped it off and a few days later more .

Yes, most definately if you are sucking some air through anywhere in the lower intake system it coud affect the idle quality. Try just torquing down all the bolts. That may resolve it since it is a metal gasket.

Thanks Ed ,

It just sorta hit me today at work , I've check / changed / cleaned about everything I could that I thought it might be , only sensor left is the IAC and I cleaned it really good .

I was thinking that if it is sucking air somewhere that it might affect the idle , if thats not it , I'll drag it to the shop .

THanks again for all the suggestions
