spanked a stang
Tonight I got up against a blown and cammed 5.0 and I had to unleash some "gaseous horsepower" on him. I know now why they call it laughing gas. You laugh the whole time you got it on the mat!! I told him it was stock and he didn't know any better. He asked me if it was a 5 speed (his car was). I left and drove 50 miles to get my wifes' Stang so I could really embarass him but we couldn't find him. This is only my second street confrontation in the L-the first was with a 150,000mi bone stock 91 camaro and he beat me. This was like 3 days after I got the truck and the weather was like 100 deg. It was running 9.2 in the 1/8th then and I was really regretting the purchase at that moment (the chevy truck I was driving then would run low 9's). Estimated 7.9 now so at least that won't happen again!

HANKFAN- That's what I thought too til it happened. The guy was a friend and whats' bad is I had been helping him with it just before I got the L. I know for a fact the motor and tranny had never been touched (350 Tuned Port/auto w3.23 gears) Even had the original plug wires. The ONLY mod he had was a single 3inch exh w/ no cats. He could pull me down low (0-40) then it would stay pretty close up to bout 110. And no I didn't lose due to traction. When I first got this thing I was gonna purposely lay a couple long black stripes down the drive of my inlaws' new house. I torqued it up and it wouldn't even get a scratch. Now you can see how disappointed I was at first since I had been on this board and everybody said they were way down in the 8's in the 1/8 and 13's in the 1/4 stock and mine seemed like the dog of the bunch. I thought it was a bunch of BS about they have to break in but it's not. And I have had chips in a whole bunch of other vehicles and never had one do anything at the track so I was skeptical about that but it helped a bunch just like they say it does. Now I griping because traction is non-existent on the street below 40 mph!
