I am just starting to modify my Lightning. I have already started the stereo, and plan on getting a few other items for Christmas. What are the best modifications to do and in what order? What chip do most people have? What kind of chip would i need, flip or normal? any guidance would be appreciated. I would like to be able to pick up some of the speed back that I will be losing due to added weight from stereo and bedcover/liners. Also looking at Clear taillights. any brands? any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all you should probably take a look at the lightning FAQ, which will answer many of the questions you have. Don't even bother asking which is the *the best* chip, because thats a never ending topic, but as long as you buy a chip made/burned by a respected company, you're sure to be pleased. Oh, and you'll probably want to do a filter too. Regarding the bed liner you talked about (vs. a bed rug which many people do), I have a Ford/Duraliner bed liner in my truck that I like a lot. It still retains the lower tie down hooks, has a nice rough finish so that things don't slide around in the bed, a pretty big Blue Oval logo on the front (maybe 15-18" long), and a small red Duraliner logo on the side. It also has slots where you can put 2x4s into to divide the bed up (good to hold concrete blocks or sandbags if you plan on driving in a winter climate). I bought my clear front corner lenses from www.autodynamic.com for $30, and it seems like most people are waiting for the 2001 style taillamps to come out before doing that switch. hope this helps. later...
