When i heard about the redesign of the intercooler and intake on the '01, my first thought was a fix for our problem, not necessarily a HP gain. I kinda thought it could do both, fix and improve. the big question is will it retro-fit to my '00, and will Ford cover it?

BaBolt, I have completed the freon mod and it works extremely well. I think once you see how simple the mod is for a 30 degree drop in temp you might be interested? Also we have gone ahead and redesigned the intercooler to replace the stock unit. I will let you know on availability within the next few weeks! Hope all is well, Chet

Could you inform me of the freon mod and also redesigned intercooler intercooler replacement.
I have also been waiting nearly 6 weeks for Ford to get an intercooler for me
Thanks, Jim

Cool

Chet,
If you have a replacement intercooler and a/c setup for cooling, I would be VERY interested in getting them. As a kit?

The freon is complete and only took a couple hours to adapt from boat application. The mfg has already started the final production version for my truck and says he will definitely sell it in kit form. This is by far the nicest mod I have done to date. We will install the new intercooler over the holidays. It will be direct drop in replacement. We are also building a new aluminum radiator and water pump replacement. This stuff all exists and just needs to be modified for direct fit purposes. Tommorrow Swanson is dynoing everything and tuning some more so I should have some power info within a day or two. In any case I will now complete the intercooler replacement. I quit working on it a while ago when Ford said they had a fix!! Screw um, their are two suppliers locally that will do it once and for all.
