Post Air intake

I read the archives on air intakes and I am having trouble deciding which one to buy. They all look like they will functionally give you the same gains. PSP and Airraid look descent, although Airraid has a nice look. I'm mainly interested in the best gain per dollar though. Are there any ram air kits? I had a ram air on my 96 Z28 with a scoop under the car.

Here's mine and I love it. Well, technically, it's JL's truck in this pic, (from his website) but I have JL's kit and it's identical.

I noticed some kits make the blower sound more evident. Does this kit make it loader? I like to here it suck the air. ;-)

I have had 2 lightnings and i have used Downs Intakes. The first quality was so so but the second was good.I have noticed 2lbs of boost minimum with both.

I am selling the second one of you want it.It is the "good" one with about 3 months of use on it.Ready to bolt on .Pay me $50+ shipping and take it.Just as good as new.

Air aid does not give you the sound as much

PSP is impossible to deal with.

Downs is a simple low cost unit complete with a K/N filter. New cost is $150

I have never had any problems with it,Just good loooks and good boost.

Cool

These are the aftermarket filters I have tried; PSP, Swanson/MAF, JL Big Mouth. The PSP and JL Big Mouth will work with JLs ram-air set up. Both filters and the ram-air set up are for sale. All metal pieces are nickel plated. I will list the add number when I list them in the classified section.

Add # 7629

I am only selling the JL set-up because there is not enough clearance between the Roush suspension and the 20" wheels on my truck.

The airraid is a nice kit and I do like it alot. When I installed mine I cut the whole in the fire wall alot bigger then stock for more air. I think It sounds good.

Lightning Quick, I'll take the downs if you're willing. I can't find your email, but send me one at roadawg@email.msn.com and I'll send you my address and info.

Thx,
Jason
