Lightbulb 'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE......

‘Twas the night before Jesus came and all through the house
Not a creature was praying, not one in the house.
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the Late Show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be The Day!

The light of His face made me cover my head.
It was Jesus! returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said "It's not here" my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound
While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long and this sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

God Bless you all, everyone.

I Thessalonians:16-17
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout,with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

AMEN

noelvm,

Worth printing out and sharing - the absolute most important thing in life! Being ready for Christ's return or our own death. The L's a blast, but we have to keep things in perspective because our time here is very temporary.

I don't know many people (including my parents) that have taken their most treasured things with them when they die. Mom's car was still in the driveway when she left and Dad's woodworking tools still in the building. Both were sold in the estate sale.

Just struck me as ironic how Metallic Blue (and others) get jumped every now and then for posting irrelevant, non-Lightning material in this forum.

I have to agree, Y2K. I double-checked the address bar because I thought I had wandered off F150online.....

Of course, I guess my post will only fuel negative reaction, but oh well...

Well, there are several other humorous post about Christmas and numerous election post. Do you object to all or just the Christian ones. I don't think anyone here is so narrow that all they want is truck post. As a matter of fact, I think the longest thread ever, at least that I remember was WHITELIGHTNINGGIRL WILL YOU MARRY ME? which was much fun but had little to do with the L.

Flord,
That was really funny, but remember it was Al Gore who was praying in the budist temple while the guy waited over at the side to give him a shopping bag with a million dollars in it for a campaign contribution.
