I have to say that I haven't run into any problems with mine and I've been doing it for 2 years now. Did you ever try some vht on the supercharger belt, that seemed to work out a little bit. better response.

Question

Does anyone think that rapid cooling the IC temp might have had some pariticpation in an IC leak? Running the fluid that cold through the tubing which is slightly flawed in design stressing it to fail sooner?

I know that a properly manufactured/designed tube should not have issues, but we all know that isn't happening.

I'm just fu@king with you. Good idea, I have thought of somthing similar, but I was going to mount it under the hood. Put the battery in the back. Just a thought.

RT,
It actually wil hold a 12 pack of your favorite beer, but will also keep your water and sodas cold during racing in the hot sun.

I beleive that JL is working on one just like you stated...maybe he'll fill us in on it.

Daniel, trackboy,
Not sure if the cooling effect will enhance the IC leak that is bound to happen to everyone, but it does sure keep it nice and cold.

I have a temp gauge on my intercooler fluid. At 80 degrees the truck will run last friday an 8.34 in the 1/8. At a temp of 70 degrees it ran an 8.19. Looks like an intecooler cooler down to a reasonable temp is a definate benefit. I suspect that this is a threshhold of too cold but certainly if you could maintain a 60-70 degree intercooler fluid temp you will difinately run faster than when the intercooler fluid is at 80+. It tends to run about the temp of the outside air and it heats up when you turn off the engine so the pump switch is a definate requirement unless your racing at 43 degrees with a 20 mph wind out of the north and you park your truck into the wind and open the hood. Shutting off the engine in the pits heats up the intercooler fluid. Its better to run the engine in the staging lanes unless you have the pump bypass switch.

Spiro,
Maybe post a picture of what I'd like for a after Christmas gift for myself.

One other thing...to make things easier on my pit crew (Lightning Bob) an aluminum jack.

Question

Those of you who are running H2O at the track, are you switching back to the glycol when you are done? If not, what are you running in your daily driving? Since the dreaded intercooler leak has manifested itself on my truck, I am adding only distilled water and alcohol. I wonder why I just couldn't keep running this mixture after the intercooler is fixed, since cold temperature is not an issue where I live, and it would make it a lot simpler to run ice water at the track?

Lightbulb

Intercooler system requires an antirust compound found in anti-freeze and also in WATERWETTER. Get the idea?

Hey Spiro that cooler looks familar! LOL! just to let everyone know i will be offering a powercooler setup that will look like a mini fuel cell. it will go in the battery location and the battery will go under the truck out of the way. the kit will come with a shutoff switch and all the accesories needed. it will hold around 2 bags of ice and the extra weight will only be around 20# spiro was right he and i were the first ones to do the cooler thing we had them mounted in the back and yes they were heavy! but man o man did they work! i'll keep everyone posted on how soon we can expect the powercoolers to be available along with some new products that JDM is working on too..

Been there, done that. I even went as far as building a 56 quart cooler with 60 feet of copper coil. When filled with ICE, it chills the IC fluid down to 38 degrees in 15-20 minutes from normal oerating temperature. I thinks thats too cold :O)
