What should my total timing be?

Look at my sig, those are my mods...

if you were tuning my truck, what would my total timing at WOT be with 13 psi for a SAFE, RELIABLE 93 octane tune...

not a drag tune, not 100 octane fuel...

Thanks....

i second the 16 degrees. thats what i run with a ported eaton that made #15 on a cool dyno day. just remember to keep it rich, 11.7 range for a safe 93 tune @ WOT. Also, check your MAF voltage. You dont want it to peg on ya like mine does.

why are you saying 16 degrees when the other guy said 9-12?

Your combination is almost EXACTLY what I used to run and and both Sal's tune (PSP) and my local tuner had me set at 16 degrees on a 93 octane street tune with no problems at all.

We run 16 for 93 octane street tunes, unless the truck has a heat box KB blower on it, then it's back down to 14. On 91 octane street tunes, we run between 12-14 depending on what the truck will tolerate on the actual gas.

This is with the appropriate air/fuel of course.

Then I just don't understand why i am pinging so bad, bad enough to waste all my plugs? I am at 16 degrees timing, and my a/f is between 11.7 and 12.0

man.. maybe I should get him to put me at 15 timing and 11.5 a/f

this sucks... I also noticed I seem to ping between shifts when at WOT

can I just order a tune from SAL and tell him i hit 12.9 psi... send me a nice strong safe 91 octane tune for it please..

I've still got my chip from Sal with his tunes for a 2001 6#/CAI/Exhaust if you want to try it.

Sal (PSP) dyno tuned my Lightning with 16* timing. I couldn't ask for a better running truck.
