2001Build date moved back!!
Called my contacts at Ontario truck. Lightning builds are rescheduled to start January 8th.
Don't know the reason for the push back at this time. Some may be built around December 18th. The first of the builds are scheduled to go to Dearborn for engineering.
No build dates are scheduled as of today!
Looks like im not going to get my toy soon enough.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Oh well after being in a rent a car for a few days, I realize how lucky I am to have a 1999 F-150. Man that saturn is one peice of JUNK. Also since I live in New England I will not mind driving the 4x4 for a few more months.
I am all pumped up waiting for the new L but I guess I can handle this for a few more months.
Life is not to bad I guess.

I found out yesterday that it will be two weeks from the day they say, "Your truck is loaded and on its way", until it arrives in Southern California. I spoke with people at the Ford Customer Service Center and they are very helpful, just not totally in tune as far as their computer system is concerned.
If you call and speak to someone you won't get them the next time - there are 400 people in the center.
If you want to verify delivery information the number is 800.392.3673.
------------------
Silver 2001.5 ordered;
Customized 1997 Expedition for sale;
2000 2 door Ford Exploder;
2000 Infinit I30 (best of the lot);
1998 Chevy S-10 with my 19 year old's mods;
1948 ****** Jeepster.

What a sense of Deja Vu!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably not worth your trouble to do so, but if the old posts from early 1999 were still available, you could read the trials and tribulations of those of us who had ordered '99 Lightnings and all of the baloney we got from SVT, dealers and anyone else we could contact to get info on delivery dates.
Many of us, including myself, ordered our Lightnings as early as Sept. of '98 and put down various amounts of earnest money. I think I spent about $200 in long distance calls trying to get delivery info, including calling a few guys that work in the Ontario plant.
If I recall correctly, there were several small problems and one or two major ones that delayed the '99s. The bed cover was one for sure and I think another was starter motors or something like that.
The good news is that eventually you will get your Bolt and the wait will be more than worth it. Stock they are simply awesome, add a chip/air filter system and possibly modify the exhaust and you will never need to consider Viagra.
I am now at 13k miles and 17 months of ownership (it's a business/commuter vehicle) and other than missing my former Supercab room, I am a very happy owner.

Don C,
I know what you mean! I look out the window and see 3" of snow. I can wait a while to start paying on a truck I can't drive yet!!
I would still like to open the garage door and see her ready for spring!! In the meantime I have another engine getting ready to replace the orig. I'm waiting on the block and the heads.
I have a Cobra "R" crank and custome rods on order. Once I get the block and rods they will be going to Roush for extra attention. I'm not going to play nice with the vett's next year. I have one in particular that needs an attitude adjustment! "The Ford Way"
Later!

Thanks Bill, deja vu is exactly it! I can definitly relate to the the "when's it coming in?" blues though
It will most definitly be worth the wait for those people lucky enough to order one of these hell raisers though
Thor01, I am looking forward to seeing your truck!
