What should I be at?

I am a little confused, and I don't feel I am at where I should be.

I got my truck a almost 2 months ago.
first thtings I did was:

NGK tr6 plugs
4lb lower 8.40"- Which only got me to 10psi
170 t-stat
Stock Exhasut
Stock Intake
Optima Battery Yellowtop
I then had it dynoTUNED by fuelinjection.com
I got 349.9 RWHP / 438.7 RWTQ - MUSTANG DYNO
I got 401.8 RWHP / 510.5 RWTQ - DYNOJET DYNO

At this point I was not sure what my total timing was, or my maf counts.. I just went with it... no pinging.. it was a safe tune...

Now this is my first question... does this sound right for this setup?
..
.
.
.
.
.
NOW, I did a few upgrades....

AEM Bruteforce CAI, after I added this, I heard some pingin to my setup, so I needed a new tune anyways... becasue the intake pipe is 6MM larger than stock.

6lb lower pulley 9" - most i got now is 13psi
Full exhaust - magnaflow.. removed stock cats and added 2 hi-flows

now i am at 374 RWHP / 473 RWTQ MUSTANG DNYNO
now i am at 419 RWHP / 545 RWTQ DYNOJET DYNO

but now I know.. my max maf count is 973 counts, and my total timing is 16 degrees.

should I be here? and what numbers do I look at when somebody asks what im making... but I thought I would be making quite a bit more... and my truck just does not feel as like its pulling as hard as my old 4.2 f150 turbo... which I made 425 RWHP / 525 RWTQ - DYNOJET. even my wife tells me my old truck felt faster... AHHHHH

more about my old truck later.

granted with my old truck the turbo made all the hp and trq above 3500...
my L makes all the torque at 2700 rpm... which is great... I just feel jipped... should I? or should I get a tune from somebody that does lightnings? and will it feel more peppy?

sorry for the long post... and thanks for all your help....

I am in the same situation as you. I have a Ported blower by Stieg. 4# lower, 2# upper, K&N intake, 160 therm, C&L plenum, and NGK TR6 plugs.
On a mustang dyno I made 386 rwhp and 450 ft lbs. I see people with less in the 400's. I'm going tomorrow to get rid of two of my cats.

cklepinger you increased your RWHP by almost 20 and the TQ by 35 by adding 2lbs and CAI, thats a good improvement
And 420/525 are good numbers for a Filter Chip n Pulley Lightning
(exhaust mods dont mean schitt right now but are good mods to do for later when you need them ; o )

16 Degrees is a nice safe place to be and with 13lbs of Boost and 420 RWHP your sotp meter (seat of the pants) should be feeling SOMETHING ???
Now of course to some people and especially people that are use to
hi-performance vehicles sometimes 420 HP simply isnt enough. But in a Lightning that should feel pretty dam stout on the steet ??? Can you post the Dyno Sheet, that would show us alot and maybe answer your question.

Either way there isnt a hell of a lot more Boost you want to throw at a stock motor maybe another 2 lbs "IF" you feel lucky. (and then you get into the place where you must address your Injectors, Maf, and Pumps) which you will have to do eventually for when you buy a KB or Whipple and go right to 500
RWHP

You should feel very lucky to have the numbers you have. That's some of the highest I've seen with just a pulley and chip. Are those corrected SAE numbers for the dynojet?

I think you are a little off on the tune. While I am not a tuner by any means I made more power with a 6# lower and tune.

Holler at me sometime, I am in Huntsville, AL.

My numbers on a mustang dynometer were 396.4 RWHP and 521.7 RWTQ. I have never dynoed on a dynojet, but am sure the numbers would be much higher on that as well.

Again, all I have is a 6# lower, NGK TR6 plugs, and a tune.

You can email me at c.crick@mchsi.com

those are the corrected numbers yes...

you really think thats good?

Well...

then I guess i am happy...

don't get me wrong... it does put me in the seat... I was just hoping for a little more oomph...

to do much more.. I have to mess with internals.. and I am not willing to do that yet... been there done that... its a never ending expensive battle at that point... maybe in 100k miles or so... I got 50k now.. when I hit 150.. I will definatly rebuild it internally.. and get her up...

I am bidding on an eaton S/C online.. so i can have it sent off and ported.. that might help somewhat as well...

Thanks
