Post Yellow is the way to go

After seeing that yellow L, I have to make mine yellow now. I found a guy down in pontiac Illinois that said he would do all my work on my truck for 3500 (thats to paint only) I also going to have some realistic lightning bolts done on it for about another 1000. He also makes custom wings for any car/truck out there. You have to see some of his work, awsome.

This will set my L apart from the rest.
YELLOW HERE I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your L's going to look like Pichachu from Pokemon! ESPECIALLY with the Lightning bolts. Hehe..good luck, hope things work out!!
Only other paint job that's going on my truck, is possible ghost flames.

3500 is very, very reasonable for a _real, quality_ paint job. Color sanding b/w the coats, clear sanding b/w the clear coats is all very important. Make sure _all_ the moldings, etc are removed and not taped over. This ensures that when the clear is shot over the color that it gets under where the moldings sit. This helps keep the clear from peeling away later on.

Good luck with the yellow. I bet it turns out pretty neat.

RTKILLA,

Don't make it yellow..... make it Chrome Yellow.

I really wish that Ford would have come out with a Chrome Yellow 'L. I had a Chrome Yellow '93 Mustang Convertable special edition that looked factory fresh with not a single scratch on it and it was beautiful and very fast.

The color really grows on you.

What color are you going to order to get the best repaint possible?
Are they going to pull the engine and yank the rubber to get a factory quality job?
Do you think a buyer three years from now will be affected by the thought that it's a repaint?

I had originally planned to do exactly the same - for a lack of better description I wanted "Fly Yellow" which is the same as a Ferrari. Only, every time I went to a shop and held an owner's chip up against the finished product they were never the same. The yellows seem to range from "taxi" yellow to "mustard" with a "canary" and a "banana" here and there. In other words, I got scared.

Worse, I would have had to have a white truck and if I did chicken out I didn't want to be stuck with a truck the color of the guy who painted my house!

So, like BLackBolt99, I'll go with the ghost flames, side pipes, chopped top, and shaved doors and tailgate...

Nice thing about waiting is that this list changes. We get time to live with our impulses...

Waitin' in Trabuco...

RTKILLA,

If you're gonna make it yellow, make it 2001 Corvette, Millenium Yellow. I know that maybe heresy to some, but that is the best yellow I have ever seen...

great name BTW... I can't stand the RT owners on the net.

If I ever have my Lightning repainted (will only happen in the event of an accident) it will be done in Mystic. I have thought a lot about selling my 93 Teal Cobra (stock for right now with 11K on it) for a 96 Mystic. In an issue of MM&FF they list a dealer ship that paints cars in any color you want when you buy it. The car they showed in the article was a 00 GT painted in Mystic and it looked like it was painted perfect. I will post the name of the dealership when I get home if anyone is interested.

John they didnt use Mystic paint. They used DuPonts Chromalusion paint. Mystic is made only by BASF. You cannot buy Mystic paint unless you have proof of ownership. For more info go to www.mysticcobra.net. Nice Cobra btw.
