Post "Drop Tail Tailgate Servo"

Hey you California guys. What happened to JSC Engineering? 26236 Alizia Cyn. Dr. Calabasas, CA 91302. 818-878-0578. They have an excellent idea. Reminds me of a Porsche. Automatically lowers and raises the tailgate. Or you can lower or raise it yourself with a remote. I call and they have some dad gum excuse for not manufacturing...you california guys..send Guido over theeay and find out what is the prob!

I have heard of that thing, looks okay, but then you'll get the yuppie soccer moms looking at you with that weird "I am on a cell phone, and my coffee is in my other hand, and if this didn't have power steering I couldn't drive it-whats the h#ll is wrong with your tailgate?!" look.

I have no use for it...(soft top)

Wink

Who said anything is wrong with my tailgate...I am talkin' about lowering or raising it for less drag..and a spoiler effect at higher speeds. You can not do that with a tarp. I don't like those black tarps anyway...you can have 'em. IMHO. The Drop-Tail is a good ideal. You can lower it when backing up as a safety measure...My tailgate is fine...but thanks for asking...jeez and where did this soccer mom thang come from...whatcha drinkin'??? it must be good...

Good idea, but could it be modified to lift and lower your deck lid/cover?

When I saw the add, they were saying how useful it would be to use on the highway. It was also about the same time I saw an add for a bed insert for the bed that acts as sort of a ramp to the top of the tailgate.

The soccer mom thing came from the tailgate looking wierd when one would come across one with the tailgate halfway down on the highway or something.

I do see a use for it, load up the bed with pink (or any color) bowling *****, secure them to a 4 foot chain somehow, then just wait until you come across a tailgater. Lower the gate (at next stop light), stomp on pedal, then check out the white knuckled grip on thier steering wheel.

Never thought of the backing up part, gonna make some "Rum-Runners," and lots of it.

LMAO
Love the bowling ball idea. I can see that happening on I285 around Atlanta. The news channels would have a time with that one.
