Question Off topic: ATV Forums??

Buddy is wanting to buy a Ploaris ATV and he was wondering if their were any websites that he could look on to get comparisons abot them. Since all of you are a group of the smartest people on the planet I thought you might know.

Oh yeah, the model he wants is a Sportsman 500 H.O in case any of you have one of these, thanks!

Most of the ATV magazines have web sites. A search will turn up several. Personal opinion, Polaris makes nice stuff, but not nice enough to justify the price. If he's looking for a 500 cc 4wd utility model he should take a look at the Bombardier Traxter series. I'm an ATV Rider Course instructor, so I get to see and try a variety of ATV's.

He needs to check out the Honda Rubicon. It is a 500 Without the junky trans belt. I have probably seen a couple hundred with belt problems. I had to replace a frame on a Polaris Sportsman 500 and most of the mounting points on the frame were self tapping sheet metal screws. If you want one that will last a long time you want something that doesn't use sheet metal screws, like the major four. Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, or Suzuki. Good luck!!
