Advertised curb weight is 4670 lbs. Apparently this includes the trailer hitch, spare and all fluids including about 175 lbs. of gasoline. One of the members on this board works at a gravel, stone, etc. outlet that has multiple truck scales. If I remember correctly his Lightning empty with no driver was always in the 47xx lb. range when ever he measured it using a different scale each time.

I've been wondering for quite some time the actual weight of my truck. (mainly for the G-Tech) The "search" revealed this thread, but it didn't help too much. Seems most everyone had added this and that or subtracted something and didn't have a full tank of gas, so if the gas gauge was off a little, that would skew the results.

Today I filled the tank as full as it would go and went to a scale that was just calibrated yesterday by the Dept. of Agriculture. My truck (without driver) including a full tank of gasoline, the hitch and spare tire installed weighed in at 4,660 lbs.

I have done nothing (with regard to weight) but remove the stock airbox and replace it with Johnny Lightning's ram air. I'd say the ram air kit outweighs the stock box setup by 5 lbs, if that much. So apparently the 4,670 lb figure Ford provided is pretty darn close. I figure each 1/4 tank of gas will weigh 44 lbs or so.

4848 lbs, incl. 200 lbs driver and a full tank of gas.

Ran a 13.86 w/out the chip within 3 mins of measuring ...

4690 with 1/8 tank of fuel, all accessories from factory including hitch, spare tire, passenger seat, etc.!! I weigh 175 and I was in it when I weighed it on the scales at Rockingham Dragstrip. Note my signature on the same day as weighing I went my best ET and MPH ever!
Later.

Ryan,

If I did my math right, that would put your truck at 4,668 lbs without you in it and a full tank of gas. That's within 2 lbs of what Ford says.

Wonder how much the stamping and casting of different parts can make these trucks vary?

Gforce - Maybe that explains why some are faster than others??
Maybe RED is the FASTER color after all!!
Don't know why mine is lighter than most. However mine matches what the factory says it should be. Don't know and don't care!
I still get ONLY 14.12 mpg but I can live with that when I can run 13'teens on street tires!!

My post of 09/26/00 is somewhat incorrect. The guy who used three or four calibrated scales at the gravel, aggregate, etc., outlet said his truck always around 4600 lbs. empty with varying amounts of gasoline and the trailer hitch. I had written around 4700 lbs., which is incorrect.

Perhaps one of the reasons the Lightning is so heavy is because non-F150 heavy duty components are being used. Is not the tranny and brakes from F250 Super Duty and the rear-end (and maybe axle) for from the Expedition? That might explain the extra weight to some degree.
