LET ME IN THE 12 SECOND CLUB
OK, you 1/4 mile guys said if I ran an 8.34 in the 1/8 that would be good for a 12.97 in the 1/4. As you know I run at an 1/8 mile strip. Well, tonite it was 56 degrees. I ran two 8.36 s and then let the truck cool off. I went out and ran an 8.30 with a .50 lite and 1.88 60' time, my best ever. Am I in?
I launched at 1100. I'd been trying 1500 but I was spinning.

Lightning finished one two again in street stock. This is the third time in a row this has happened. I was second. Cut a bad lite and Paul ran an 8.50 on an 8.50 dialin. Tough to been with a bad reaction time. I had the right lane. I hate the right lane. We flipped a coin, he won.

You need to just drive over to HRP or RCR and see what you can do. I think you are in the 12.9s. My best 1/8 on my 13.26 run was a 8.52. I didnt have slicks but my MPH was 83+ so I think I have the power to run a 1.90 60ft with good traction. IMO the 1/8 does not even compare to the 1/4 on a "fun" scale. Its over before you get going. I realize that the 1/4 tracks are long drives away for you and if I had a 1/8 track close to me I would probable live there too. Actually there is no track close to me. RCR is about 70+ miles, but they take graet care of the track and its well worth the drive.
Back to the topic. You cant be a part of the 12 club till you run one. But I do think you can. Congrats!

Well, I'm probably never gonna run the 1/4. I'm not buying a damn helmet just for that. I don't want to wear a helmet. Fooey, but if you don't like that slip how about this one. We ran this evening and boy was it cold. 43 degrees but a new best time. How about 8.19

noelvm,
According to Race Calculators a 8.29 1/8 puts you in the 12s @ 12.99.
Now your 8.19 1/8 puts you in the 12s @ 12.85
I Have a time slip (not able to post) for a 12.83 as follows:
R/T .542
60' 1.871
330 5.328
1/8 8.196
MPH 85.38
1000 10.701
1/4 12.833 (26" tires)
That's about the closest time slip to yours I have.
Go to this link to get the calculators to convert your 1/8 mile times:

hey noelvm, you can go down the 1/4 mile at least once without a helmet.hehe if you can't borrow a helmit from someone.you should get at least one shot at the 12,s club before the track tells you to get one. you will not be happy until you have that slip that says 12.99 or better. later

One of those new Z06 vettes showed up Saturday. His best was an 8.35, I beat him with a 8.24 on that run. He had traction problems of the line but those things are a hole lot faster than the 99-00. There were two of them out there and their best on this cold day was 8.80.

I have a WWII helmet, think I could wear that.
