Intercooler Clunk!!
I agree with gforce, don't let it ingest any more antifreeze then it already has. The i/c pump is thermostacically controlled to come on at a certain temp. I thought mine was broken, at the track, when it didn't come on below 50 degree (outside temp)
Then again, if I can hold out long enough maybe all the 1999 and 2000 i/c replacements will be used up and Ford will have to retro-fit the 2001 i/c tanks. The same with replacement motors-mine is starting to consume oil not burn it!!!!

On the CLUNK THING.
Took my L to the dealer, armed with all the TSB,s Part #s for bolts, etc. Stayed at the dealer 3 days(gave me a rental car-ESP warranty-BFD!!) and STILL CAN"T FIND AN TSB ON THE BOLTS. Asked them to call SVT-Took my truck back-JERK Dealership!!
Now I talk to frame tech in Body Shop-Racing Bud- and he tells me, The MOVING BOLT (mine is 1/2" IN BOTH DIRECTIONS) maybe elongating the whole in the frame and the WHOLE FRAME IS RUINED!!! NICE!!! Or I'll wreck my Lightning and wind up owning FORD or my dealership!!
Pleasent Thoughts!!

videoman,
That dealer Blows!! Go to another if you have one close by. The frame is sloted at the time it's built. Ford did not take the slot out of the production tooling process when they offed the part to work with it.
Ford has had this slot and part on previouse years to work with adjusting the alignment.
They discontinued the part to save cost and used a simple washer and bolt. I doubt it has done much to longate the slot more! Continue to drive without the fix and yes.
When you do find a dealer that knows what they are doing make sure to tell them you want to see the washers before they install them.
Just to make sure they aren't doing something to get you off their back! The washers will have teeth on one side. Make sure to tell them to remove all the frame wax where the washers will be installed, and to help the teeth bite.
Also tell them you want to see the installation while the truck is still on the hoist! That way you can see if the washers are on right.
Some have had the fix installed wrong and think the fix doesn't work. The TSB doesn't have a drawing of the washer installation at this time.
Just written instructions. Know what that means!! Some shmoe might not be able to read to good or understand them!
Best of Luck!!

OK guys and gals, the TSB is actually called a "Special Service Message".
Videoman: The number is 14417 for the front end problem, couldn't get the number on the intercooler problem.
According to the dealer, small amounts of coolant through the engine are not a problem, if it goes a long time, or a catastrophic failure-there is a big problem. I tend to agree that a little coolant over a short time will not be a problem, except maybe with sensors or cats. I called SVT and that is their answer also.
The delay for the intercooler is for gaskets as the dealer tells me. The clunk gets new bolts and special nuts as I understand.
Jacob: Call Charity at Spradley-Barr and tell them you have the same problem as me, she's been pretty good so far.
