I'm number 6 of 8 that they just ordered for my local dealer. I currently drive a '97 lariat and have never driven a lightning until today when I put a deposit for a red, and the fleet manager let me test drive a '99. I think he wasn't too happy about my test drive because I took it on the freeway and pushed it to about 90 or 100, having too much fun and wasn't paying attention. I also let the wheels spin at the stop light in front of the dealer. The best I could get it for was MSRP, which is good considering all the dealers here in Vegas are sell it for $5k to $8k over MSRP. I just can't wait to take my new red baby out and blow away all those ughly shopping cart ricers.

 

I had the same experience at one dealership.
I thought the salesman was going to wet his pants or something.
That just makes test driving an L pointless.
Another dealership had me sign an insurance form which stated that if I wreck it, I buy it. Then they let me just take it out without an escort along.
That was much better because I could launch it, throw on the breaks, take it up over 100, whatever.
I mean, you need to see what a $32,000 truck can do before you sign your life away.
Anyone who expects you to just *****foot their precious truck around without checking it out is out if their mind!
