Angry Personalized plates

Can anyone tell me in what way Thor 01 could be offensive to good taste and dececy?

I've been fighting with Michigan Department of State trying to tell them all the Vikings are "DEAD"

Need help with this! May go in-front of a review board. I need some ammo. Anyone have this same problem?

They state the term may be offensive to others! I told them it's in the Dictionary!! How can it be offesive.

They had no clue as to HOW it RELATED to a LIGHTNING TRUCK.!!

They wont allow 3M TA3 either... (get it?)

Anyway... what reason did they get for rejecting it??

Btw, the gov't did name a missle Thor. And Calif has 250 plates using the word "thor": http://plates.ca.gov/search/

Cool

Michigan may have a ban on religious oriented plates and Thor is a deity. Remember, the only reason you kneel to it is only a matter of the time and place you occupy.

DreaminAboutL,
"Good point". I just got off the phone with the Supervisor's helper.

She tell's me they are going to run the plate. When I asked them if my request was considerd offensive by the Suporvisors judgement or according to State rules of Michigan. Got no reply.

Just, were going to run the plate. Persistance must be the key!!

4D THNDR,
The pamphlet they sent with the rules indicated letter and number combinations.

Amateur radio call ltters or a letter combination which might be offensive to good taste and decency. Nothing about religion.

I just hope they don't change their minds. If so, I'll have to move to California or maybe Las Vegas. I've seen some good-ones there!

Thanks for the input!!

Tundra,
That plate should egg them on. If I had a second truck

I would try for 'RIP ZR1'. "Rest In Peace". Don't think it would get by my Michigan Department of state. I just fought with them over my name!!

Anyone else out there come up with a good one for a vett owner to look at while he's getting his a** beat?

Thumbs up

"DUCK01" aTm plates are of little purpose once I graduate, so I'm probably gonna get "QWKRNU" or something like that.

As far as "bad" plates, there was a big deal around here a year or two ago when some kid got a plate that said "PTTSUX." The "PTTS" is the division of Texas A&M that distributes parking tickets and violations. They are worthless. Anyway, the state issued the plates, but had to recall them a month or two later once someone affiliated with the PTTS clued the state in. Really clever, but a big mess.

DUCK

well, say that you own the whole comic book collection of "Thor" comics & that you like him!! Try that. BTW if any one can tell what the name Mjolnir means you are good!!!! I was thinking of using that as a persoanl lic plate! I just dont think anyone would have gotten it.

Yoda,
Thanks for the comic book idea. I'll use it if I have to. Didn't get the one you posted. I'll have to look at it later. Had too much to drink with dinner. Need sleep!!

Early this summer there was a guy running around our engineering center in Dearborn with a yellow vett with 'VETT KING' on his plate.

After I tweek my 2001 I'll look to CROWN him. Had an aftermarket exhaust for sure!
Thanks again for the reply, I appreciate it.

Question

Does anyone know if PA has a website to check for plate availability?
