Aftermarket exhaust
Does anyone know if the exhaust rattle problem with some of our lightnings if from the hangers not being tight enough or the exhaust itself. Would an aftermarket exhaust system cure this? Dual or cat-back?
I would like to have a nice rumble at cruise and throughout. Nothing too loud though. I also don't want to lose too much power. I only want to get the exhaust it it will fix that annoying rattle so I can kinda hit two birds with one stone.
Thanks
Darryl

There's a tin panel close to the rear axel that came loose on mine, long ways away from the exhaust, but sure sounded like my exhaust was rattling. Two rivits fixed that problem.
If you're upgrading exhaust, out of all the systems including a custom one I had done up, I went with Sean Hyland's system. It's got a real nice low rumble, with a snaping roar at WOT. May not be that much of a power gain (maybe 10+ HP?), but sounds really powerful.
The main reason I went back to SHM's though, was I was doing alot of different mods (still am, but sshhh) and was always having a flow problem. I know that SHM is always doing work in on their Lightning yet they're using the same exhaust, clueing me in that it's quite universal. The SHM system ran great with all the changes in mods for me, and still does.
Cheers
