Another problem (unheard of?)
I had a howling sound that lasted for weeks. It sounded like it was coming from behind the dash. I could not hear it when I stuck my face in the engine compartment - only from the ****pit. I posted here for suggestions. Got nowhere, but it finally disappeared.

Tundra, if you have made it to 25,000 on your original F-1's, you aren't ragging it out. I think I was wrong.
My brother-in-law is a Ford mechanic at a large SVT dealership in my area. (but I bought my truck from an out of state dealer, hehe) Anyway, you should hear him rag on Ford quality. He says Ford redesigns parts if they last to long. This weekend he was at our house and said they had put a stop sale on all Expeditions, Escapes and the Focus, and they have 15 brand-new Mustangs on the lot that will not run properly straight off the truck from ford.
Steering wheel is falling off the Escapes, rear wheels are falling off the Focus, Mustangs have bad spark plugs, Trans problem on the Expeditions.
This is my first Ford vehicle. I just hope that somehow I got a "good" 2000 Lightning. So far I have been unimpressed by "Ford Quality" but then again, I am not impressed by any automaker's quality these days.

Well, thanks for all the responses guys,
JohnnyLightning, you are making me feel like a w. Palm each resident talking about canisters and 'butterfly' connector, I have no idea what they look like, but I am assuming it is on the supercharger. I'l take a look at it tomorrow, screw that, I'll take the truck into the dealership tomorrow at 7am and let them take care of everything.
It does seem like most of us in this thread are talking about the same noise, since we all agree it is louder in the *ockpit. And whats more suprizing (not really) is the fact that a handfull of you guys have expeirienced it already. I guess 2 hours (actually 3)a day on this site isn't enough to cover everything. I almost missed out on that tiwn supercharger thread(hows that going?).
mracer, I bet ford gave the 3.8 v6 engineers a raise. We have one. They teach that at engineering school, except its called "estimated design life expectation" or something. They dont expect the original owner to own the car for more than 100k miles. So they design the parts for 80. Atleast thats what I was told 8 years ago. The best newest design improvments do not go to the market, they go to the safe under lock and key, until a competitor brings out a new design.
No snow, and about 4" so far this year, but it has gotten into the mid/high 40s since then. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow for the following problems/ services.
1)25k mile tune up, I better get that damn air filter this time. Pre paid when we took delivery. when you guys take your turck in at less than 25k do they try to sell you one?
2)wiper
3)clunk
4)INTERCOOLER
5)cruize light is out, they have to tear up the dash to fix it, but they are going to have the truck for a while anyways due to intercooler parts.
6) cruize control cable is cracked, complained already, another dealer claimed to have replaced it, when I pointed at the same cable with the same exact crack in the same exact spot, the service writer said they 'repaired' it. I want it replaced.
Well, I better get that thing there before it really does snow, becuase I dont have studded tires, and I guess they are going to have to keep it indoors. Dont forget the fact that they can't hot dog it.
I expect service similar to what happened to Metallic Blue, but I know a little bit about the dealership, I'll try to use that to my advantage. Time to get Jack Doss's phone number...
Later.

Thanks for your help LightningBoy. Do you wear a cape?
