Hi FORDSALES, that's very interesting info. I've read old car books that contain production numbers for diiferent models.
Is there any place on the web that has these type numbers for our trucks?

I've wondered about the yearly breakdown of bodystyle/engine production and what the trends were.

 

Hey Jim, are you sure on the color code for white? I thought it was YO.

Just for reference, I pulled these 1999 numbers out of an old post from PFA.

For the second year in a row, black (the fastest color) wins! And, for the second year in a row, white (the slowest color) is a distant last. Could it be that the light bouncing off the white paint is disturbing the laminar flow of the air and causing additional drag?

 

I think I saw it on another site that if you take off your tailgate and bedliner, you improve the laminar flow rate. Any timeslips to back it up?

 

I have race d my lightnings 2 years now and can aaure you ,tailgates do not make any difference

 

I just checked the door sticker & it does show code YZ for white--the most rare of all Lightnings.

Ford has two white color codes for trucks, one is YO and the other YZ

No. A code is used for a specific model

I don't know about now but there use to be YY, ZC, YZ, Y0 and WT used for white. It all depends on whether it was an extended cab, regular cab, supercrew, F150, F250, F350, F450, Econoline, Ranger, etc.

 

YZ is the code for our white Lightnings. As far as other white paint codes, I have no clue until I look at the tag in the drivers' door.

Please don't forget, WHITE IS the FASTEST!
