G-tech 0-60 times??
Well I know it's not 100 percent accurate, but I've alot of people say the are extremely close.Anyway the tracks are closed so I borrowed my friends G-tech to at least have something.I couldn't do a 1/4 mile pass do to my chip pinging in 3rd gear.I only got one shot, however I felt I left alot on the table. It ran a 5.4 spinning and granning on the launch. Is that pretty good compared to others times?Like I said it had more ,but I only ran it once.I figured it had to be good since the factory says 6.2.What do you guys think? Thanks Mike

Highroller thanks for the reply. Those are some awesome 0-60 times.I felt I could drop mine several tenths if I had another shot.I really haven't found a good medium on launching my truck yet. I have to gradually get in the gas. You have given me something to shoot for though. Maybe it will go 4's? I'll find out when I get some more time.
Twinturbo,
My first runs with my G-Tech produced a 5.35 0-60 run and a 13.72 1/4, both on the same day. These were in completely stock trim. Then after about 20 times trying, I managed to whittle my 0-60 time down to 5.06 in a little cooler air. It's all in the launch. Blow the lauch and the run is screwed. One thing is for sure, my G-Tech is VERY consistent on the runs. Also, it showed my HP at 335 and the dynojet showed 332, so I think it's fairly accurate.
Now I have J.L.'s chip and have managed a 4.95 0-60 on the F-1's with the same weather conditions, but the rear end was hard to control. Maybe I need some more practice now that I have more power, or maybe the F-1's won't take more, I don't know.
The reason the 0-60's are so important to me is two reasons. One, I can learn launching without busting the speed limit. Two, this is where the majority of my racing takes place - stoplight to stoplight. Next Spring, I'm taking what I've learned to the 1/4 track since I've never been.
Oops, I see HighRoller has me beat badly on the F-1's, so I need more power and practice.

Twinturbo,
Do you have an e-mail address? I looked and didn't see one. I've learned it's easy to start a big stink with opinions, so I'd prefer to tell you why by e-mail.

With the r9 and filter with cool air your truck should do 4.9 to 5.0 on f1's if you launch it right! The street is harder to launch than the strip with f1's therefore when launching take off about half throttle until truck starts rolling than mash it and hope it hooks for best times on street.

If you put BFG Drag Radials on your truck you won't believe the difference on the street! If you are running 4.95 now you will definitely be running 4.60's or better all day long!

Using a Vericom (much older and larger, but every bit as accurate if not more) I clocked 4.91, 4.87, 4.85 0-60's

Well one thing is for sure I hope it quits raining soon. I've got plenty to shoot for with all these 4 second 0-60 times. I felt there was plenty left, but I thought 5.4 was pretty good, yikes!! One thing it'll help me on,is launching this baby. I've always drove 5 speeds and auto's are different to me. Most people feel they are easier, but I find it harder, especailly in a fast truck. We'll see I'll keep you guys posted since I can't go to the track and get a real time!!
Twinturbo,
I am by no means an expert, but I found a smoking launch on F-1's killed me. I use two feet for driving and always have.
What I do is hold the brake with the left foot while idling and then simultaneously let go of the brake and give it about 1/3 throttle until it's going about 10mph, then I gradually (but quickly) floor it. That produced my 4.95. So, even though the other guys have me smoked badly, you too can be in the 4's with the right launch. Just shows I have a lot to learn also.
