Question Need Your Opinion on a L Deal

I mentioned in another post that the local SVT dealer is REALLY looking to sell off the 2000 Lightnings. The price has dropped down to $35,000(cdn), and is now available with 0% financing through Ford Credit. Assuming I can sell my truck for $26,000, I'll be able to put $7,000 down on it. It approximately $600/month compared to the $700/month I paying now for my 4x4. I'm wondering how much I'll miss the 4x4, although I'll probably be able to afford an old 4x4 next summer. Sacrificing a new for an old really doesn't sit well. Most of you probably don't really care what I decide to do, but any opinion's would be appreciated.

Here's a cool pic! Possibly my future truck.

Wow...that seems like the best deal I've heard of yet, what does that work out to with the exchange 23,500.00?. I didn't think you could get special financing on SVT rigs? Shoot, it would be worth flying up -catching a Flames game -and driving back. What's the name of the dealer? Is that cost without tax and licensing? There has to be some sort of catch, anyone out there bought a rig in Canada and brought it back over the border?

The dealership is Metro Ford. Here's there site http://www.metrofordonline.com/ With our tax of 7% GST, it's about $38,500. My friend that works there as a mechanic, said he was talking to the salesman, and he said the 0% financing is only on for this week only. I'm sure they'll keep the deal going though. What do you mean licensing? I think the reason there ponning(sp?) them off so cheap, is because there's 3 SVT dealers within the area that have 3-4 L's each. And next year there getting the 2001's in.

Well the GST tax is refundable -I would get that back as soon as I crossed the border. The PST (Providence sales tax??) would not be refundable -correct? Is that 7% also. Then I would have to pay Washington state sales tax 7.9% and then maybe duty/import tax as well, another 7-12%???

I would be at MSRP in no time! Still it's an excuse to go see a hockey game -Thanks for the info!

I talked to my buddy about it again, and it's true, 0% financing, but it's only today! I can't see many people taking advantage of it in one day.

Flord, Alberta has no PST, only GST. So your a Flames fan? There sure scarce lately. The Flames are almost on the death bed right now, because there sucking so bad. The coach is threatening to do some major trades if they don't improve. There's some talk about them moving south too. That would kind of suck.

I'm not really a Flames fan -just Hockey in general. The only team I don't like is the Red Wings! I agree that it sucks so many teams have relocated from Canada to the States. It's too bad that Canadien teams can't get a somewhat justified tax break to put them on even ground. Although, I am hopefull of getting an NHL team in Portland, OR -and it could be the Flames...who knows?

Anyway, go take advantage of the 0% financing for a new L. You'll save thousands over the rest of us!
