Smile 2001 VINS

Just received the Vin on my 2001 Lightning!!
No build dates scheduled yet at the plant!

Just letting everyone know your dealers should be able to pull them for those who have one on order.

Now, I can see what my insurance is going to cost! "Once I get in it,I won't care" he!he!he!

PFA,
What color did you order? What dealer did you go through? I haven't heard good things about mine!

I actually have two on order, one of which I know right now has a VIN. That one is with Friendly Ford in Monroe. They got my Dad a L this year with no hassle and treated him great.
I ordered white, again.

Got my VIN # today. Too bad I also canceled that order for a new one. That means I need to wait again. Ugghhh...damn!

-Marcus..

Oh well, I still can find out how much my insurance will be.

PFA,
Thanks,I'll keep them in mind. I went through North Bros Ford in Westland. First time buying from them.

I'm getting A plan, so I hope they treat me decent if I should have to take it in! That's a "BIG" if.

Question

Hey guys
I went to two SVT Dealers today, and will be going to the 3rd in my area tomorow, one flat out told me that they want sticker price, I left them my name address and phone #, the 2nd told me he would talk to his sales manager, I told them both I wanted to pay $ 31,000.00
What did you all end up paying for your Lightnings?
If I can get one for $31-31.5 is that a good deal?
Also I have been told a bunch of different dates that they will start rolling off the line, any ideas, on when it will arive if I order it in the next week or so?
I loved my 93 Lightning, like my 99 F150, but want to get back into a Lightning.
Thanks
Don

Don C,
If your getting the truck under MSRP your doing OK! I know a few of the guys on the board were getting under $30,000.

You might want to scroll through the board and look for a post listed as "2001 price". It may have the information your looking for.

I placed my order at Bonnell Ford(Winchester)yesterday and the full price came to 32,340.00(with tonneau cover). They told me to expect delivery in March.I had called Portsmouth Ford and they would not take any deposits until production started.

The last time I dealt with N.B., they weren't very accomodating, if they would only return phone calls. I was returning a lease and they could care less if I bought/leased a new vehicle. Maybe because of the A-Plan???? They lost my business!

Now I'm worried. I've been hugging a dot matrix printed page form October 14th that is titled "2001 DEALER ORDER RECEIPT ACKNOWLEDGMENT-FD"

It goes on to name the dealership; an October 2nd processing date; and an assembly plant VIN # F073 1.

Is this the real thing?
