WOT missing
Happens to me all of the time. A real bummer. I thought it was the chip but took it out and same problem. Seems to go away after the engine heats up which kind of sucks because by the time I take it to the dealership it won't be happening.
where in the Boston area do you live? I live in Dedham and I see a white L around once in a while.

ILL SVT: 93 octane, but at this time of year in the northeast the gas is blended for winter driving.
CSVT: I live in Hingham, work in Boston and Bedford, and travel to Wakefield on saturdays. Do you know any other Ls in the area, any get togethers? I wasn't able to get to Ford day at NE Dragway this year but I hear theres a good turnout of L1s & L2s.

Anyone else experience this? Truck is stock with 3K miles. Usually used for commuting (hiway/city mix). After about a day or two of normal driving, when I go WOT theres a noticeable miss (feels almost like a fouling plug but haven't pulled them to look). After the first WOT it clears and will pull fine after untill it goes for another couple days without WOT, then the same thing. Coils seem tight, doesn't appear to be moisture related. My question is: worth trying to identify/ fix before making performance mods, or will a chip cure it? I'm planning on a JL or PSP chip, MAF, then either 3.73s and/or new TB. BTW, anyone planning on doing any retrofits when the 01 L parts are available? Curious about manifold/IC swap (the blower and engine appear unchanged & both these parts have to fit, right?) Thanks, Ed

probie, I got the Flowmasters at Belmonts Rod & Custom shop in Dedham. $90.00 for 2 two chambers. A friend of mine has a muff shop. He also builds hot rods. He lives near me so I dropped the truck off at night and he would drive it to work early in the morning, do the work that day and bring it home. He's done my old Dodge SST and Mustang GT. I don't like to let people drive my vehicles but he's not a beater. $50.00 total for the install of the flowmasters. If you would like to have it done let me know. You can always drop it off at the shop. You might want to meet up with me before hand so you can listen to the Flowmasters before you buy.

Hello Ed,
My truck has been missing at WOT after setting for a few days...for months. I have not taken it to the dealer yet, but I suspect moisture in the coils, which dry up when warm.
Just my 2 cents worth
