How much power will a stock 5.4 lightning longblock take?

Just as the title states....I am a new owner of a 2000 lightning and was wondering how much power (rwhp) a stock longblock will take. and what is the most boost that is recommend to run with a stock eaton blower.

Rich's truck is a freak, and also a ticking time bomb .

The "average" concensus is about 450rwhp is the limit for the stock rods. The 99-00 trucks can make a little more, I've done upwards of 500rwhp on 99-00s with no issues. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule, but that's the accepted "safe" number.

let me add that LightningTuner is Sal from PSP.. he is my tuner, we are making that power on a safe tune on pump gas.. i have i guess you can call a race tune set for 104 octane, not sure on the HP of that tune yet.. with a slipping transmission i ran a best of 11.7@115mph.. like a 1.67 60'.. that was at full weight.. this year i plan putting the stock setup to the test after i get my new rear and transmission done.. then we will turn up the tune and see what we can turn..

I agree 450 is about tops.

I run 440/550 with a
ported eaton @ 16lbs boost
Snow Performance Boost Cooler Water/Meth injection kit (helps prevent detonation)

Stock long block. Stock cams. Whipple @14.5-16 lbs. of boost. Rich tune at 14* of timing. 1 year of daily driven fun and counting.

The tranny didn't make it.

your right i should have.. i always ran on a street tune 93 octane, and my tuner and I were working on keeping the truck together going down the track.. my shift points shift at 5500rpm instead of 5700 or 5800 like others do..

A 350-400rwhp Lightning in the 11s? Not unless it weighs 3000 lbs.
