While sitting in Win 2K training for the last three days, the need for some "fresh air" was great. Hence this writing....

Coming back from lunch on the lightly traveled service road about 50 mph, the Red Rocket met The Man head on. I knew he was rather unhappy by the laser glare, quick turn of the head thereby causing a splat of saliva on the window.

Kojak was in an "unmarked" car and wearing a suit. Sorry, no lollypop. Detective maybe?

I simply slowed and continued to the building parking lot. His response went something like this. "Let me offer you some advice. If I see this vehicle driving in this manner again, I will write you two tickets. One for $130 (no specific charge) and one for $150 for reckless driving, a mandatory court apperance. By the time you tally up lawyer and court costs, you will be out around $5,000."

With license, registration, and insurance card in hand ready, my respectful response was... "Sir, is this a threat or advice?" Funny thing, I didn't get an answer. Just an expected "Watch yourself, drive safe, and have a nice day."

Now I know why I don't drive to this part of town on a regular basis. Traffic bottlenecks, soccermoms, and redneck cops.

 

U gotta love those high school dropouts....i mean...officers of the law.

There are prolly some good, honest cops out there. I'd like to meet one someday.

That experience brings back momories. The first day I got my truck went out crusing around town.
Went to the local hangout where my buddys where. they wanted to see some smoke, so I complied and when I got done I just then noticed the opp (orland park police) squad sitting on the other side of the building. Neeless to say I only made it one block till I saw the pretty lights. I just explaned what I was doing (cleaning my tires from the freshly paved drive) and he said watch it a$$hole I know this truck now.
Yeah I run into him quite a bit now and its usally for the front plate being nonexistent on my truck (officer I ordered the bracket from the dealer and they haven't got it in yet). I wonder how much longer thats going to work.
