Post Another CRAPPY dealer experience... QUALITY ANYONE???

OK, so I take my truck back to the same dealer that burned off my rear tires to have two wheels replaced (peeling) and my passenger side door arm rest replaced (warranty) - the arm rest was scraped over a year ago when it was delievered. They have ordered the arm rest nine times now and have never got it right. They said today that they have the "correct" one and it gets replaced. Upon inspection, it is surely NOT the right one at all. The dealer is trying to tell me that the part is discontinued and I have to live with a different style arm rest. The arm rest given is a leather-like material that has stitching all around the edges. Guy says that is what Ford told them to use for replacement - looks like absolute garbage!!! Can anyone please give me the correct part # for the arm rest, or tell me for sure if it is discontinued?

Tell them to go take one off an L on the showroom floor since they cant get it right. Let the sales staff/mgr climb up parts/service's azz. They are an SVT Dealership right??

Thumbs down

They are an SVT Dealer - Williams Ford. THEY SUCK!!!! I was wandering around the lot today - as they spent five hours working on my truck - and didn't find any Lightnings. I did however find a used white '99 that they could take the arm rest out of. I called the service writer to offer the idea of snagging the arm rest out of that and replacing the one in my truck. He says he doesn't know about this, and will have to "see if he can get it done" tomorrow. Doesn't sound too promising. I believe I am entitled to this because 1.) I didn't do the damage in the first place - they did 2.) Have lived with it over a year. Quality service??? Makes me never want to buy a ford again.

Since you live in the Cleveland area, I take my truck to Mike Bass for for service. It's a little far for you, but they give you a loaner car if under warranty. I only had it there once so far, but I talked to the mechanic afterwards, and he knew what he was talking about. I remember your post about the spinning tires at Williams Ford. You are the reason I don't take it there for service, even though they are 15 miles closer to me than Bass. Tom
