I traded in my '98 F-150 STX Flareside for a 2000 Focus ZX3 (blasphamy!). I had gotten HotRodSix to run 16.02 @ 86 in the quarter with a automatic! I really enjoyed that truck. First time out to the track with the Focus netted a 16.79 @ 82 (big disappointment). With a few simple bolt-ons, I now have the Focus running 14.76 @ 92. The F-150 is long forgotten!

Future plans called for a ported head, hotter cams, limited slip differential and a 4.06 gear. I expect to be running high 13's and looking for some Lightnings to pester (Hey, that little ***** is keeping up with me!!). I know there are some fast Lightnings out there but I can always bolt on the Jackson Racing Eaton supercharger and really wreck some havoc!

Just be sure and keep that factory look, and you'll get a thumbs up from me. Right down to the 12" rims. (Couldn't resist)

A friend of BABolt's, I think I met him at a FME night at Milan, is running 14.8's in a Focus, and he's just getting started. He's not in riceland yet, but he's getting there.

I have to admit I like the SVT Focus idea, at least since driving one. I always thought them to be pretty cheesy but that's because I drive a chipped 6000lb diesel F-250 with over 300HP and 650lbs of torque, normally anything short of a large v8 pickup wouldn't rate a second look. I just took my truck in for some repairs and got a loaner Focus, I thought all my chest hair was going to fall out due to testosterone depletion within the first hour I drove it. Well it's been two days and I'm impressed with its acceleration (for a 110 hp weed eater engine) and especially the handling of this stock economy car. This little car with stock tires can hold some pretty tight corners with ease and the steering is very precise. I find myself racing anything in it's league and winning, granted - it's league contains things like Civic's with huge exhaust tips, but it's still fun to blow them away with a $12,000 base model car. What's real funny is since I've had it just about every riceboy out there has tried to run me which I'm really not use to, I guess they figure they can take me since they normally race the average mom or female college student that doesn't even know she's racing. I wouldn't mind driving the 130 hp model with some nice tires, I'm sure I could have some fun. Bottom line, it's a great little car and I'm happy to see Ford come out with something to compete with all the economy imports out there. Check this link out for a pretty cool race where a modified Focus beats a Mustang with a 1/4 of 14.873! damn good for a 2 liter engine. http://www.focussport.com/camerat1.htm

After reading my post I realize if I don't get my truck back soon I might have to put a huge spoiler, 5 inch diameter exhaust(only at the end, the rest is 1 inch), cut the springs, and put stickers all over it. *If you see me doing this I give you permission to publicly beat me to death.

HotRodSix----Just wondering, what kind of gas mileage are you getting with your current setup?
