hey guys I ran across this on the the Corvette Forum, it is a "race" between a Viper Venom (500hp/500+tq) & 2 RX7 TT's, the guy in the back groung that shot this video is in a Lexus 300sc, & after the video you wont want to EVER want to race another Lexus 300sc again (well @ least this one!!!!!) Remember, the race was between the RX7's & the Venom, P.S. watch for the fire that belchs out of the RX7 on the right (they are 11 sec modded cars)
They start out at about 40mph on the hwy!!!

i know him thats clint...

his car is wicked fast.....its the car that make me want to get into the TT AWD cars....plus it also made me want to make the L AWD, who cars about a 30% drivetrain loss if your still putting out major power at the wheels anyway.. plus do you know what that would do for the traction off the line....we could hole shot a Z06 so bad we would get a car length right away, then how much we pull on it would be in relation to how much power we are putting out (duh)

Hey, I grew up with Clint and his car is pretty bad! I actually tried to post that race on here the other day but something messed up. The guy in the Viper has a whole fleet of cars, way too many to list. Check out some of these sites listed below if you want to hear some of the trash talking that goes around Austin and see more videos of him and other guys around here. Ok, don't flame me too bad, here. But, I noticed that the vehicle in the far left lane seems to be some sort of SUV, maybe a Durango. Now, that guy should be waxed by the racing cars as well as the tagalong. But, he seems to be kinda' hangin' with the racers. Maybe it's the zooming of the camcorder that makes it look that way. I love the sound of that turbo...kinda' whooosheeeee!

 

Trust me, the video IS LEGIT! All of the guys in the race know each other. They WERE really racing. The video has been everywhere from Corral, to the Viper board and nobody believes it at first. I assure you its LEGIT. Now the question is, how can I get my truck to go that fast.

 

hey badbolt, they werent racing at the point when the SUV was with them, they were going normal traffic speed 40mph (as I said above!). They started to race, that is when the SUV just disappears!!! Listen to the engine, & watch as the truck is left behind!
I just watched it again, as a matter of fact the SUV's brake lights are on, when you hear one of the guys say "yes" that is when they start to race!

Ok that was sick. I've just lifted my vow against not putting alot into my L. I want to smoke some vipers and Lexus's. Who's with me. Boys there's got to be a way.

 

to give you a better feel for this car, here it is against a 2000 mustang (stock for all I know) from a standing start. Remember the dude in the Lexus has regular street tires, so with 700+ hp he can have a hard time getting traction off the line, that is why they start out even then its GOODBYE Lexus vs 2000 mustang

 

He has posted LOTS of videos - After watching 8-10 of them it is NOT clear at all if his "opponents" even realise they are racing. There are a couple races where he pulls up next to some one honks his horn and takes off. The other car doesnt budge.

He may have 700 hp and a really fast car but some of the videos are misleading

But reading the threads is fun .....

Slapping turbos on a Lexus seems to be a common thing down here in Miami.. I know of a few SC 300's andGS 300/400's with turbos..

Yes they are fast.. Yes they will run alot of cars.. but this Lexus is far from a Vipper killer..

On his own web page he says it runs high 12's.. Do you really think this is enough to take a modded Vipper ? I don't.. but it is a nice Video..

The website is old and outdated. He ran 12's with the stock twins (he has a Supra TT motor in the car). Since then, he's upgraded the turbos and done a lot of work. He just recently dyno'd over 700 at the wheels! There has been a debate at every website this vid. was posted at.....and if you check out the thread in the vette forum you'll see that the Viper owner (SW) actually admitted that he got stomped and that Clint's car is a lot faster than his Viper. But he also says that the viper is not a Venom....just a GTS with headers and exhaust I believe.

I've been in several Vipers....this looks just like a staged filming. It's just seems like too short a burst and they don't seem to be going that fast at all. However, one can only make a judgement based on what one sees. Whatever the case...they have some fast cars at their disposal!

Those are beautiful cars and no doubt very fast!
