That doesn't surprise me, those Powerstroke diesels are so easy to add power to, in the Excursion we've added as much as 250 lbs./ft. of torque and more.

The first time I saw an F-350 dually smoking all 4 rear tires about halfway down the 1/4 mile my jaw dropped, but I have since gotten used to those PSD's that are leaned on doing some great times for those heavy weights.

Ford has de-tuned the PSD's quite a bit, as they are actually made by International, and offered to other manufacturers in power levels all the way up to 325 hp and 675 lbs./ft. of torque bone-stock! This is why we can add such large power gains and not compromise the reliability or service life of the motor. So between it being turbocharged and designed to make much more power to begin with, it's an excellent candidate for mods.

Navistar & international are the same company. I had a Powerstroke and it was a good engine. I had a BD chip, Banks down pipe, & a K&N filer For a 12,000# truck it ran pretty strong. The only reason I got rid of it was the fact that it had 181,000 miles. The Excursion is the Hypermax test vehicle. It weighs 7995# & has 500HP & 1000 ft. lb. torque! Very impressive. The first run I seen it kill a Mustang GT! Lloyd

That would have been great to see.

I do believe that the International engine offered, and the Powerstroke are different. I think that International 325hp/6xxtq is a 6 banger. Please correct me if I am wrong. There are 3 different engines to choose from for the commercial trucks. 1 v8, 2 6's

Turbos are amazing. I have witnessed a couple powerstrokes (4 door pickups) run 14.80's-15.30's with minor upgrades. chip, filter, pipe. even quicker w/ propane. ran one in the L, didn't win by a HUGE margin. 13.61 vs. 14.80. I would have died if I lost.

I've seen the dodge wiyh the built Cummins 600HP/1800TQ! International makes the powerstroke engine for ford. In the 650/750 series they also have the Cummins & Cat diesels available. That's the facts jack! those are the 3 engines in that series of trucks. Lloyd
