Holley Thunder...threat to Lightning?
Found this on the Sean Hyland website. If you believe the hype, they claim to be smoking the Lightning. What does anyone know/think about this?

I saw this kit they were doing R&D over at So-Cal Speed Shop looks good quality but I don't think it will be a threat. Part of their market is for people who already have an f-150 or for those who prefer extended cabs. From talking to the guys there they don't act like it's a Lightning killer at all.

BlueL,
You'll have more pulley options with the Kenne Bell but remember that it is also driven off the alternator!!! A double pulley.
The Eaton is also intercooled and that's a huge plus. That's just my point though.

There is another L owner close to where I live, he's added a SHM: pulley, MAS, chip and airfilter. He ran a 13.2xx @ 102.xx on Mission next to me while I did my signature run.
Maybe you want to talk to JohnnyLightning or someone else first...

You could put this on your stock f150 and the cost would be increased by the blown transmissions you would have to replace!! Imagine that torque on a stock f150 or Ford Execution tranny.

If Im correct the kenne bell blower is a auto rotor! This compressor is much, much more efficient than the eaton is. Thus creating less heat=more hp per pound of boost. Intercool this thang and add some more boost..itll blow away any eaton lightning.
The stats on that Holley Thunder look pretty close to what the Eaton stats look like from what I've seen. I love the looks of the Holley blower though, really nice kit. I wouldn't doubt that with the Holley kit and a few other mods to tighten things up, that they could prove challenge to the Lightning.

SY1999R/T, what do you mean they won't make it production? Are you thinking this is an actual vehicle? I pretty sure therer just refering to any F-150 with this kit.
Wow! $6500 for the kit? Little pricey, but still cheaper then a L, without the handling performance although. It sure has me thinkin!
Radarlove brought up a very good point. If Ford had to replace the L's tranny internals with a diesels internals, keeping the stock tranny from grenading, will be a problem. It really still has me thinking though. A 4x4 Lightning called "The Thunder" has awesome potential.
