Lightning (defective seats)
Skyline Ford finally got the cover and new pad for my white lightning!! It has taken forever it seems. Everyone that owns a new lightning be sure to look close at the part of the seat that your but slides over getting in and out of the seat!! I f you notice a dark strip that runs from front to the back about four inches long and about three quarters of an inch wide, the problem is starting. I am going to have Winslows Trim Shop On Garland road repair mine.
Bennett,
Is that the entire seat cover or just the section with the dark strip?
SVTvern,
How was your repair done?

I spoke w/my dealer about this yesterday, they indicated it would be covered under the 3/36 and that the 12K mileage was not an issue. They are supposed to get on it first thing Monday. I'll let you know what happens.

Had the seatcover & foam padding replaced about 5 months ago. Gues what--its doing the same thing again. They dont fix anything-- Just replace parts.

Hello Guys,
I am currently working on this issue with my dealership Enfield Ford. They are pretty helpful, as long as I am descriptive, and detailed with my needs/wants regarding the vehicle, and then have the support of SVT, or other Lightning owners to back up my claims of manufacturing faults.
What blue blood says makes logical sense. Some type of "redesign" should be available, and putting a soft support around the specific rods sounds like an excellent place to start.
Sincerely,
