Post really getting ticked off with my lightning help please?

ok guys i have had this problem about 2 months now and i am really getting sick of it. first off superchip has been out since january, psp filter has been removed about 1 month and i really miss them both. all that is left on is full bassani exhaust. 1 day i get in the truck and it runs like crap, it ran terrible for bout 2 weeks non stop crap. never went away until i carried to the dealer (check engine light came on about 200 miles after it went to running poor). they put a mass air sensor on it and claimed it was running perfect 3 techs drove said it was a dream. i even drove it with one of them and i thought the truck was fixed it ran perfect. so i leave the dealer and was driving wot and it was great. about 10 miles down the road in heavy traffic it went into overdrive at 40 mph and it went to skipping so bad. it sounded like it was on 6 cylinders. it was shaking so bad if i had a coke on the dash it would have turned over. all of a sudden it quit and truck went back to running like crap (i mean no power it sux). i called the dealer later on and rescheduled. i drove it up there and they kept it three days and said they could not find out what was wrong i picked it up it ran fine i mean great. it ran fine for about a week this time. and now 90% of the time it runs like crap, and probably 10% it runs like it should. check engine light is not on. what in the world could be wrong. i read one of your posts a while back but i cant who or which topic, but i read that they were on the way to the dyno and it was running like i described terrible. and i believe the 1st run dynoed at 210 rwhp then 2nd run dynoed at 327 rwhp. i just want to know who this was and if you found out what was wrong.any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

oh yea if i were to call someone a svt about this (b/c i am getting very disturbed over this) who would i need to talk to in order to get some results. i did not pay 33,ooo dollars for a piece of junk that will not run but some of the time. i love this truck with this exception i dont know if selling is an option but if it keeps on it just become one. sorry for the long posts.

Rusty, i would try taking it to another dealer or something. if it still can't be figured out i'd check into your states lemon law, especially if they keep putting you off.

Rusty, disconnect the battery overnight, and see how it runs, my guess is that is why it drove good at the dealer.

Does it do this in open loop? (Start-up, ~1-2 mins after you start it up?)

The post you are reffering to is me. My truck did the same thing and it was the #4 coil pack. It had a coolant leak that was virtually undetectable by just a casual glance. I know it had a leak but I never actually saw it and never lost a significant amount of coolant. But then I heard it was a heater hose that leaked, but either way it had a leak that warrentee fixed. Tell them to change your #4 coil pack. Hope this helps you and doesnt confuse you because it seems the more I type the more confussing I tend to sound. Later!

eaked and got fixed

I would seriously investigate what Caka said above. I bet that is your problem!

thanks guys,

i checked lemon laws but it practically states that it can not have any aftermarket stuff. caka how much was the coil pack i think i will try it this week just to give it a shot. i mentioned it to the dealer and he said from his experience with coil packs it generally doesnt come and go usually when it goes bad it is gone. just saying what he told me. i have had a gut feeling the whole time about that #4 coil. kind of a bad design.

I agreee with Caka.

My 4x4 had several problems with coolant leaks and plugs and coils. It ran very similar to what you are describing when it had these problems. Runs great now though.

I dont know how much the coil pack cost, because it was coverd by warranty. Your exhaust will not void it, so let them replace it. They should not have a problem with that. If they wont fix it go to a differnt dealership. Thats all I can say.

Sounds to me that you have a sensor going out, you could be packing it with liquids and causing a faulty adjustment (at the ECU) and either it drying out (by parking) or getting blown out then reapplied by the said liquid again.

Caka is right. My coil pack went bad and it ran like crap whenever I got on the gas. My problem came and went depending on if the coil pack got wet enough to short it out. The dealer replace the #4 coil pack and tightened the heater hose clamp and I have no problems now. My coil pack looked dry but I put a little water on it and the green from the dried anti-freeze showed up.
