yes I did file with the nhtsa, I hope everyone else does too!!!as far as the backorder goes it seems like I know more about this whole situation than they do thanks to this forum and they said we'll call when it comes in and that ford said they have a new modified one coming out which I know is bull, so I think the best thing for everyone to do is go to your dealer and tell them you're losing a gallon every week and then file with nhtsa and hope!!!!

Well thank God someone is posting with NHTSA. What gives if you do not post with the NHTSA. Nothing. Nothing=nothing. If you want something in life bad enough, I have found in more ways than one you will eventually get it. Of course, with a firm belief in our Lord. No, and I am not a fanatic, I just have my beliefs! Hey Jerry Jordan:

Just go to any dealer, Ford or otherwise, and buy a small bottle of coolant tracer dye. Can't remember the amount, but it's the size of a liquid paper bottle, dump it in the intercooler resevoir. Run it for a couple hundred miles. Then if they question it or want to send you on your way, you can tell them to black light the exterior of the engine for leakage. Even a Ford mechanic should know this stuff doesn't vanish into thin air.

That's what my SVT mechanic told me to do yesterday. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. 1/4" per week for me too.

Question

Did they tell you how long the parts will be on backoreder for? My dealer wouldnt order parts untill they tore apart my truck and then told me about backorder. They said ford will give me $15. towards rental which is bull****. Monday I AM GOING TO WAR with them over this if parts are more than a few days out. Truckless in Benicia

Report it NOW, so Ford will have to replace it ASAP via a recall.

I think it helps to get it diagnosed first. Then make the call. Don't worry. I will.

BON is exactly Canadian friendly when it comes to filling out their questionnaire.

My friends, please do not place any faith in NHTSA (or rather what NHTSA can do for you). Remember the Firestone tire debacle? Well, where was NHTSA when all those people were dying? A better question is, where is NHTSA now with the Firestome tire thing? Exactly! They aren't even making a fuss.... So, when you have relatively minor problems like a leaking intercooler, do you really believe that NHTSA (or anyone else in Washington) cares? If you do, you must be one of those Florida voters.

Remember what..its still going on...the readers here have alot more guts than you give them credit for A minor problem...you'll say minor problem when that dad gum thang leaks all over creation Oh yeah..BAN FLAMES..hee.hee.

Talking

It just tickles the hell out of me that at least two of you who were denegrating Gore and railing against Big Government are now entreating us to petition a Federal agency to get involved with our problems with Ford. I have no problem with this. I like the idea that there are watchdog agencies staffed by civil servants, not in the employ of the corporations, who, understaffed and underfunded though they may be, attempt to prevent big industry from selling us defective products that kill, maim, and poisen us and pollute and destroy the environment. If they did not, would you be prepared to run your own crash tests, drug safety tests, child carseat tests, etc. etc? Not to mention you second amendment advocates (of which, as the owner of seven guns, I count myself), would you be prepared to form your own militia and go over and kick Saddam Hussain's *** so we can have cheap gasoline, if Big Government didn't do it for us? All I can say is you better submit your petitions to NHTSA in a hurry, because after the shrub gets in all these regulatory agencies will be emasculated in a hurry. Then our welfare will be where it belongs, not in the hands of Big Government but in the hands of Big Oil, Big Drugs, Big Logging, Big Mining, and our precious mother, Ford Motor Company. Good luck.

What you have to do is go in there and bitch them out like no one else has ever done before. Thats what I did and it only took ford two days to get mine in. I was filling mine up completely everly three days with water and now that they fixed it, I have noticed it still leaks a little. About a 1/4 inch every two weeks. Haven't bitched though. Kinda hoping they will recall it so I can get my new parts and then I won't have to worry about it. Everybody please fill out the BON, its the only way cause think about it, theres not to many of us L owners out there. And very few who even talk about these problems.
