Post On freeway with two Vipers

Last night coming from manhattan around 3:00am on the L.I.E
heading tords longisland I was driving at about 65MPH when I saw a Viper GTS coming in fast. He drove by me and I hit it. These cars are very fast I was hangin with him at about 110MPH going throw traffic. So I notice there was another one behind me eating my A$$. So traffic was geting clear so the one ahead of me was geting away at about 135MPH ,so know both are in front of me. At the moment I'm thinking to myself, Damm at least I can hang with them At about 10 Cars length or less at top speed. one of them was throwing flames out the back of the exhaust every time he shifted. The flames were about two feet long. Had a great time just geting that rush. So they got off the freeway and I slowed down. We were on it for about 5 or 7 miles. what a rush.

If I remember right, the Viper me and my buddy came across didn't spit flames. The only Dodge I fear. For some reason, I think they cut it off at 135, and just cruised. Arent they capable of 186?

Just the fact that you were still on the horizon must have had some effect. Can't wait until next summer!

Yes, a new GTS (actually all the GTS's are 450hp/490tq) will run 12.2/117-118 stock (with a decent driver) and can reach over 185mph top speed.

If they actually attempted to go over 160mph, an L wouldn't be anywhere near 10 car lengths. Just my opinion.

I have a 1999 Viper GTS and a 2000 Lightning.
They are both great in their own way. But the Viper far exceeds the Lighning in every category except passenger space, load capacity, ride height,A/C efficiency, and "vehicle that most sounds like a jet on acceleration".

I know the way these cars perform no daut, and I also know they were just playing around me knowing how fast they are. I know I don't have the closest chance to run with them. All I'm saying is that atleast that was a great experiance.

Tundra
Your right about that,I know they cut off at 135MPH cause I know they were just fooling around me, and yes they are capable of going over 186.
