90mm maf
90mm maf
So I am upgrading my maf on my 00L to a 90mm unit. I already have a K&N CAI. I was under the impression that I needed some kind of adapter to bolt it to the air filter housing, but it actually bolts right up just like the 80mm did. The only thing I need to change is the intake coupler for the bigger maf. Someone told me I could find these at a hardware store with the plumbing supplies, any other place to check? Autozone had a few but they were to small. thanks
Yes "if" your Maf came with the 4 Bolt to Round Adt then all you need worry bout is the larger outlet size. Auto Zone has a good selection otherwise Yes you can go to a Plmbing Supply or Home Depot and look for whats called a Fernco Coupling or Dallas Coupling. Measure up your needs and bring a ruler with you

Ok so when you say K+N we're talking about a Hi Flow Open Filter like mine,

And then you just re-used the original 4 Bolt to Round Adt ?
As long as it fits perfect and has the Larger Opening that mates up to the 90MM Maf your fine, DOES IT ???
BTW Here's some of those adt's I used on my old Procharged GT, got um at Auto Zone.
In my case when I upgraded to a 90mm L Maf (which is what that is)
I had to go back down on both sides to mate up to the already oversized Procharger Intercooler piping.

You prob need a Fernco 1056-43 to make it work,
but it might need 1056-33, what exactly are you hooking it back into ???
What are you using as an intake tube from the TB to the Maf ???
Hey Rob, yes i do have an open air filter like yours. I guess the adapter is just built into the air filter that I have. I matched up the 90mm maf to the air filter and the maf is slightly larger than the opening on the air filter, but it still looks as though it would seal up ok. Would this work or would it be limiting the airflow to the maf?
As for the intake tube that runs from the maf to the throttle body it is just a plastic one that came with my intake kit. I tried those intake couplers that you suggested but couldn't get any of them to fit, the 3 inch was to small and the 4 inch was to big, any suggestions? thanks

The 4" will go down to 3-1/2" if needed but it'll look like crap : o (
Now that I think about it the ones you see there on the 90mm L Maf on my Stang I didnt get from Auto Zone,
they only had 3". I used 3" when I had the stock 80mm Maf on that set up.
As for the 3-1/2" x 3" I actually got them from Sal of PSP,
he doesnt show them on his site but he has them in stock
So on one side you dont need anything and on the other you have to attach it to the Inlet
Tube you talk about, what size is that ???
As for the sizing of the Adt, size does matter but they are extremely expensive so if
you feel it's ok I guess thats a decision you have to make.
If Sal cant help you this is where I got all my Rubber pieces from when I installed the Procharger

Dont know what size your intake tube is but you prob need what I had
3-1/2 x 3"
